When happiness and joy are not appearing in your life, create them. It is annoying that the things we repeat to ourselves become the facts we believe, but even switching from 'today is a terrible day' to 'today is a day and there will be joys in it' can help you see the bright sides. When life is dark, sometimes all we can do is adjust our eyes and appreciate the calm.

It's okay to 'grieve' things that aren't just death. I've allowed myself to grieve a friendship ending, a situationship, losing something important to me, etc. It's okay to give yourself time to process the loss of something. Grief looks different for everyone, try to find a way that works for you to help make it easier for you.
