OK LET ME CLARIFY EHEHEHEH
I don’t mean this in a literal sense more of like a thematic sense or a storytelling one i suppose. i noticed there’s a lot of like..WEIRD parallels to undertales narrative directly in deltarune, but not in the “everything corresponds to the exact way it happens in undertale” but it’s like as if..undertales story is being told in reverse. and the events dont exactly align but they sure as hell rhyme.
so this is the story progression of undertale. ruins -> snowdin -> waterfall -> lab -> hotlands -> new home and then the boss stuff. right? well, in deltarune we start off in an area with similar storytelling beats to new home (where ch1 happens) and currently we’re in an area strikingly similar to the hotlands (where ch2 happens).
in chapter 1, (which would be our narrative parallel to new home in this theory) we’re confronted by character/s unknown to us prior and told an incredibly plot relevant story. this sounds a bit vague but this is far from the most important piece of evidence to “prove” this is the case.
you see, the key to new home’s and chapter 1’s striking similarities is in the final stretch. the castle.
after the events of new home, you are faced with the much-anticipated throughout the chapter battle with a king in a cape who, no matter what you do to try to stop him, always resorts to violence and cannot be reasoned with, who uses a weapon similar to a trident. it’s also worth noting that the king “lost” his son to an enemy side in some fashion and now aims to destroy them
and just who does that exact description also apply to?
yeah . yeah that’s fucking right
and to prove my point even more a commonly overlooked detail is the throne rooms. just look at how similar they are. the exact layout of the chair being placed in the middle instead of on a wall or off to the side. isn’t that weird? wouldn’t you expect a throne to be placed against something and not just awkwardly like that, out in the open? this is an incredibly strange design choice to repeat…that is unless its intentional in some manner . hm
however the biggest offender of this is by far….
the entire aura of the cyber city gives off MASSIVE hotlands vibes. like i’m not the only one that feels like this right. there are entertainer robots EVERYWHERE you look, there’s a huge theme running throughout it of being famous and wealthy and having a lot of fans, just like mtt, and not to mention.
need i elaborate on why this guy is a huge link to mtt/the hotlands in general.
to go even more into Insane parallels land both the hotlands AND chapter 2 have you helping a pair of lesbians, one more masculine and blunt and one more quiet and feminine, to get together.and also the more feminine one has done crimes against humanity in certain routes but let’s not get into that or we’ll be all day
before i make any more insane points i am going to Halt myself . i have not a fuckign CLUE what any of this could mean but i just thought the narrative parallels were cool upon first glance and as they got more and more weirdly coincidental i jsut. what the fuck
