I've been listening to Colin Hay's music frequently for well over a decade now. Seeing him perform "I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You", "Waiting for My Real Life to Begin", and "Overkill" live at this year's @winnipegfolkfestival was phenomenal. He's been one of my favourite artists over that time (thanks @zachbraff & @vdoozer for introducing me to his solo work!): his eloquent words have moved me and calmed me, his voice is casual yet powerful, and his guest spots on "Scrubs" were hilarious. Yesterday would've been her 89th birthday. Today we say goodbye to my Granny, an incredible woman who I'm so happy and lucky I got to spend a lot of time with in recent years. Life will be a little more dull and the world will be a little more cynical without her here, but it's been lovely seeing family this weekend, as well as going through nearly 90 years of photos -- the memories are a delight. After being a @cfl_official fan for nearly all my (almost) 34 years, I made it to my first #GreyCup thanks to a #secretsanta. Wandered the concourse solo to stay warm and get great views of the game (which was actually a good one!) and the half time fireworks show (with some sort of background music). Briefly saw @ianawesomez and then ran into @terrytray in the 4th quarter, so I had company through the rest of the game and the Grey Cup Presentation Ceremony (where after many attempts, finally waved to Tannis on the field). Also saw the Mayor and the Cup up close walking the concourse! Thanks again to that Secret Santa 🎅 and also to James for meeting me to lend me cash for food and hot chocolate after I left my wallet at home. Great day. Now let's just see the #BlueBombers there again some day? Maybe?
