“I mean I’m going to write a speech about how much I love her.”

“Can I do anything to help?”

“Is a romantic boat ride too much for a proposal?”

“I’m trying to set up a special night for Liz.”

“You’re not wrong. If he could ever get over himself long enough to, he’d probably agree.”

“How are you feeling though?”

“I don’t think any of them would hurt us. I mean, Vicki did punch my brother once but…Nick probably deserved it.”

“Arguably Nick deserves it quite a bit.”

Dinner as in people food, or…people? Because if it’s the latter we might have to leave town.

I was thinking people food. It’s hard to make blood romantic after all.

“Caroline seems to have that effect on people. But, I don’t think Klaus would ever hurt any of us. I mean…he was always good to me when he didn’t have to be, so maybe I’m biased, but still.”

“No I think us kids are completely different for him. I can’t imagine Klaus hurting us at all.”

I was hoping to take my special girl out to dinner tonight.

“Seems to be. Given all the legends surrounding him, who would’ve thought? Not that I’m complaining, all things considered…he’s never been anything but great for me.”

“I think a lot of the difference is his wife. Caroline changed him for the better, and we all know she’d kick his ass if he dared hurt any of the kids.”

“I mean he would. But, he also adopted me for a time, so.”

“I think adopting kids is his thing.”

“Yes, I am, if only because she knows how confused my son is with two doppleganger grandparents, let alone three. I’m also certain if anyone in your family is claiming him as a grandchild it’s going to be Klaus.”

“You mean Klaus isn’t going to claim every single kid as his grandchild?” Colton asked fringing shock, “Honestly I feel like my uncle would.”

“I’m sure we’ll be fine, and I’m overthinking like I tend to. It’s just…my family isn’t the greatest. And Rebecka – my girlfriend – I don’t want them to ruin this. If they had it their way, I’d probably be marrying the guy I’ve been best friends with for fifteen years regardless of how I feel about it. And, now I’m…realizing you didn’t ask. Sorry.”

“You’re talking to the king of overthinking,” Colt admitted rubbing the back of his neck, “That’s a lot but don’t apologize. I’m sorry your family can’t be accepting of who you decide to spend your life with but you should do what makes you happy.”
