bill asking twelve why he noticed her out of all the people who come to his lectures who aren’t supposed to and it cutting to the photo of susan on his desk as he says “most people, when they don’t understand something, they frown. you smile” he chose her bc she reminded him of his granddaughter and her curiosity and joy!! twelve said I WILL adopt you immediately!! I’m gonna cry!!

bill not even knowing what her mother looked like. her foster mother not making her feel loved and wanted. no real feeling of family in her life. and here is someone she looks up to and admires who notices her, picks her out of a crowd, and says, you’re special. I believe in you. I want to see you succeed in the things you’re passionate about and I’ll help you get there. I’m giving you pictures of your mother so you can actually see how much you look alike. she finally starts to learn what family feels like
