Colfer Takes New York City

and I am a penguin. Yes, a penguin writing a blog. It's hard to imagine, but here we are. This is 2013 folks. If dogs can paint pictures and monkeys can spell words, then surely a penguin can make a tumblr. Don't be prejudiced, just because we generally live on floating chunks of ice and don't speak. Much.

The question isn't "How is this penguin writing a blog?", but rather, "Why is this penguin writing a blog?" And I will tell you, my new friends. Once I figure it out myself.

I guess the answer is really because my owner Sami, who I've known my whole life, just started college, and she no longer has time for me. Its kind of like Toy Story 3, except Sami knows I talk and also she took me with her to college so really its not like Toy Story 3 at all.

Still, I've been really bored lately. Sami used to take me on all sorts of cool and interesting adventures. I was able to see places no penguin has ever seen before. It was amazing. But now that Sami is in college in New York, there isn't any time for penguin-human adventures. There's only time for human-human adventures. Or human-laptop adventures. But mostly human-coffee adventures.

But you know what? I don't need Sami in order to have adventures. I can have my own adventures. I'm in The City That Never Sleeps (as a penguin of a college student is well aware of). There's no need for me to wait around until Sami realizes she should make more time for her one and only penguin. And I'm two years old. Who knows how old that is in penguin years?
