Companion 2025
Dir: Drew Hancock
A part of me wishes that I only ever saw 1 trailer for this movie and it was the first teaser trailer. I had no idea what was going on exactly but it looked intense and awesome.
Subsequent trailers revealed the main premise, but it would have been awesome not knowing it.
Anyways... amazing movie. Sophie Thatcher kills it and the rest of the cast is also great. Worthy of a watch for sure.

Started this series the other day and already the first episode is like the kinda thing those BookTok ladies talk about.
Based on a book so maybe it is a booktok book.
Interesting enough after 2 episodes!
Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh are killer already. Ha ha... pun.
I just remembered Tumblr again so I could come talk about Nosferatu and how great it was.
Cool movie, very well done... amazing work in scenery, transitions, suspense, and more.
SFX work is amazing, and I am now super interested in seeing a Behind the Scenes look ASAP.

Jason X 2002
Dir: James Isaac
Watched Jason X over the weekend, it's been a long long time. I only had a vague memory of upgraded Jason ruling hardcore.
This movie is way more sci-fi nerdy shit than I remembered. I love it, it's great, it's bonkers... But it does make me wonder how the hell it got approved and made.
Opening back up Tumblr to say....
The Cell was actually very good, and lived up to the air around it IMO.
I had never seen it before so decided to just dive right in over the weekend without watching a trailer or anything. The movie is STACKED with actors you have seen dozens of times.
Costume design is great
Weirdness is great
Did not disappoint
It's always been my dream to mutate Blister City though a number of additional projects, settings, etc. and I'm happy to announce... It's going really fucking well. I'm so excited to show Blister Kingdom off/
Blister Kingdom is a small (I guess like comparatively... it still clocks in at 50 pages after all) setting zine designed to add some Blisterpunk flavor to your favorite dungeon fantasy TTRPG. Blister Kingdom is based on Blister City, and all the setting, locations, and NPCs included are translated from the more cyberpunk setting of Blister City into the dungeon fantasy world of Blister Kingdom. Among the major changes in the genre shift are:
The idea of a Mars Bubble City has moved more squarely into a more traditional dungeon game setting. Blister Kingdom is instead the only surviving kingdom after a long and bloody war poisoned the atmosphere, and destroyed all other known kingdoms.
The tech has obviously changed, with many of the high-tech elements of Blister City being swapped out for magic or divine objects instead. Where Blister City has body mods, Blister Kingdom has magical mutations.
The factions and NPCs have been transformed to fit the setting a bit better. Some changes are obvious, The Gravediggers of Mars for instance have turned into the Graveburners of Richterburg. Some changes require reading between the lines to catch, for example the Uplifters of Mars have been turned into the Automatites of Blister Kingdom.
The shape of the city has changed. Whereas Blister City is notably tall with districts all living on top of each other, Blister Kingdom is wide instead. The class conflict is all still there, it’s just a different shape as it were.
The mood and the rebellion of Blister City remains unchanged though, players are still punks, the rich still don’t give a shit, you still have to do what you can to protect your community. Spread the good news of The Everburning Church, mutate horribly in the Balowealm, join a union as a sentient printing press, and figure out who or what is stalking through the Outer City, leaving behind a trail of corpses.
PS: If you missed it, I also dropped another game based on Blister City here, and there's now a Blister City News Network feed up here. While I'm excited to put Blister Kingdom out, and I'm excited to start work on Blister Island, Blister City will always be my baby, and I'm not nearly done with it yet.

ppl on Twitter have for no reason I can tell rediscovered Mighty Jill Off, thee cute indie platformer abt lesbian BDSM from 2008. I have no idea why it's gaining traction again but I just thot u all on here wld like 2 b part ov that 2
the funniest thing to come out of this game popping back into popularity after 16 years or whatever is that Anna Anthropy herself has seen the twitter threads about it, and she's pointed out how many people are posting this image:
And her reaction is like... BARELY DISGUISED? WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THIS IS DISGUISED AT ALL?
It's a game where you're a submissive boot-lover being punished by your mistress for acting like a "greedy slut" and having to climb her tower as punishment, where she ties you up and gags you and makes you do it again.
Frankly, if Anna Anthropy was trying to disguise her fetish, she massively failed. This game is on her wikipedia page. This game has a wikipedia page, which says Anna Anthropy made it because she wanted more dykes in video games, and she (and the artist) were trying to make the game appealing for the BDSM community, because she is also a member of the BDSM community.
It's all listed there in black and white. This is not disguised in any way.
I know we all think Tumblr has bad reading comprehension, but I think Twitter's is worse.
Like, a Tumblr post could be hundreds of words or more. Someone skimming could easily misread something. Not that it forgives them for immediately flying off the handle about whatever perceived sleight, but it explains the behavior.
The average Twitter post, on the other hand, is like 11 words. If you can't make it through two and a half sentences without missing key information, I'm not sure how to help you.
Movie Week #??
Late Night with the Devil
2023 Dir: Cameron Cairnes, Colin Cairnes
"In 1977 a live television broadcast goes horribly wrong, unleashing evil into the nation's living rooms."
Kinda spoilers not really: This movie was interesting and ultimately if you are a fan of Horror and interesting concepts it is worth a stream. That being said the use of AI and CGI effects do actually take away from the overall film. Practical effects would have made it that much better, but what it does is interesting. Keep a close eye on everything while watching.
Stream Worthy: Worth checking out
Collection Worthy: No
Platform: Shudder, AMC+

In this solo murder mystery RPG, you play the overnight clerk at a sleazy motel. One of your guests killed another, and you'll spend your nights spying on a cast of 15 colorful suspects to uncover their secrets and connections to each other.
Just don't get it wrong, because a false accusation could cost you your life.
To play, all you need is a deck of cards, a six-sided die and a ledger to log your motel's nightly activities. (The game will come with a ledger, but any old notepad will do).
Using a spread not unlike a hand of Solitaire, you'll find out who checks in, who checks out, who gets entangled with who, and who has dark rumors following them - all with an eye toward building enough circumstantial evidence to make an accusation.
As the nights wear on, doubt will creep in. So build the best case you can, because you've only got one shot to get this right.
I've been working on this game for a long time, and I absolutely love the potential this has to be an ongoing drama generator for the built-in cast of characters or any OCs you bring to the mix. Check them in and set them loose, then document what they get up to.
As for extras? Yeah. We've got those. Pick up a keychain from Room 7, site of the murder, and maybe even a "dice tray." Yeah that's it, it's a dice tray.
The campaign runs Feb 23 - March 15, so give it a look and let me know what you think!
