Like, the one I see primarily discussed is Cordelia, and I will get to Cordy in a second, but like, there is just genuinely so much I enjoy in season 4. We get sexy evil Wesley AND Weslah content, Spin The Bottle, we get several episodes of Faith and Angelus content that are fire, and I personally Like the couple episodes of Jasmine being in control following Fred as the only sane person left.

And of course, Awakening my beloved. The whol episode that’s wierdly contrived silly and indiana-jonesy all throughout, where every single character conflict is immediately resolved and they win the day and Angel and Cordy confess their love and sleep together,, only to be revealed that it was all a vision to bring out Angelus? Like, genuinely it is in one of my top Buffyverse moments ever.

Now as for Cordy, like. I have issues with season 4 because of her, primarily just that for all intents and purposes, she is dead between s3e22 and s5e12. Which like, yeah I really dont like it, I like Cordy, I hate to see her gone from the show, have her story cut short (especially seeing as it was apparently done out of spite by joss whedon.) But like, a criticism I see so frequently is about her sleeping with Connor, how it’s a character assassination of her and such, which is just baffling? Like, chat we are aware that this is literally just not Cordelia, it can’t be out of character for her to sleep with Connor. I get being mad about Cordy’s Literal assassination, but I just dont get the idea of her Character assassination.
