If you claim you don't support providing housing for the homeless with taxpayer dollars, but you do support incarcerating people for being unhoused, what you're actually saying is that you're fine with the government giving them a roof so long as the living conditions are punitive, dehumanizing, traumatic, and dangerous. In fact, you're saying you would prefer to pay drastically MORE to place them in the prison system rather than in non-carceral housing. Please take a moment to examine that and what it says about you.
