If we're going to go with a general answer here, because there's definitely been different stages, as far as the initial realization? Sometime around 2001. If you want to start when things got a little more specific thats about 2005.
If we want to talk about fictionkin specifically, 2015.
Re-syscovery? 2025
This is too far in the past now for me to be able to pinpoint a specific day and it was more of a gradual "oh you mean that's a thing? you know, that really makes some sense..." I was searching for stuff about "dark elves" (nb, I am not one, that just happened to lead down a path) in late 1997 and I discovered otherkin email discussion lists in the first half of 1998. I think I first turned up on the wyldefae list between April and June of 1998. (I never got any archives of that list, so I can't be sure now.) For larfs, to pick a specific day, I like to say it was Beltane 1998, but that's basically me making shit up.
(Maybe bonus points for having been subscribed to the Silver Elves' paper letters earlier in the 90s, which I had had a similar reaction to seeing their listing in the back of Drawing Down the Moon: "You mean there's really elves???" but although clearly there was something subconscious going on, I wasn't aware of the meaning of it yet.)
Roughly June 2023 I would say? judging based on activity on this blog. I started using it again (was originally an aesthetic blog lol) as a little secret place to keep newly blooming otherkin feels.
I would have been 24, so very late compared to a lot of folks in the community i think? I had no idea about this stuff when i was younger even tho i was online. I knew about fictionkin a little as a teen bc of tumblr but never rly gave it much thought. Had a bit of a 🤨 moment later in my teens stumbling across the angel kin tag but assumed i was just obsessed with angels and not that i was a kin of any sort. Wasnt until i became friends with two therians who, when talking abt their experiences made me go... huh. And from there i figured everything out lol. I dont think I would have otherwise XP or maybe i would have just thru other means.
Tomorrow I officially brand myself as a rabbit, update tattoo pics will be incoming :3

of course! I would love a credit! On one hand if it's easy enough to do (ie in a tumblr post) it is polite to credit anyway but also it means that anyone who sees it and would like to use the symbol themselves can get easy access to the full res files! ^_^ plus id be SO excited to see what people make with it, it's never a bother to be pinged for that!
if one is using it for like a pfp or collage where it would be trickier to credit is where I don't mind and where the fair-use comes into play XP thank you for asking!! im so excited to see it!

Witches & Pagans who work with the fae, what are your thoughts on Titania & Oberon as real, tangible spirits and not just characters written by Shakespeare?
Are there faery beings out there using the names "Titania" and "Oberon"? definitely
Are there ones that not only use the names but match the descriptions, and answer when called by those names? probably.
Are they in some plausible sense queen/king among the fae? Well define king/queen, but sure, any given individual could be one (since there's no singular over-all-everywhere personage that fits that, and the definition of "queen/king" is a little smaller than it tends to be among humans)
Okay okay, cut the hedging (ha ha), you know what the question is intended to mean? Those exact forms were some kind of a manifestation of his specific way of interacting with the faery realm, but it doesn't make them "untrue" or "just made up" in the way that most people might think.
