Anyway, I’m trying to figure out a proper way to say what I want to say about this, but basically this segment (where Ohba and Obata laugh about literally not understanding what literary criticism of Death Note is even talking about) is really funny, but also justifies my The Author Is Dead reading approach.

The idea of Light and Mikami becoming Kira roughly around the same time and meeting up for the first time is also cracking me up.

She literally did actually do that last thing though? Her ignoring Light's instructions and showing up to meet him again two days after they met was how Mogi saw her, and that was how L linked her to Light and got her captured. Also in the Yotsuba arc Light very clearly and repeatedly says he doesn't want her to put herself/be put in danger, and then she goes and honeytraps Higuchi entirely off her own bat with only Rem as backup.
