tubbo is doing a pvp event soon that he just announced and was saying that the minecraft pvp community has a reputation of being a toxic cesspool and like that's because it is!! hello?? sorry i've just never met a pvp'er on a minecraft server that actually enjoyed playing with strangers, they always hang out in their little 5-10 person cliques and enjoy hunting and killing others for sport and i just don't fw that. add onto that the fact that all these streamers' chats are rancid vibes (like i heard some people saying theothebald's chat kept misgendering pili and lopez during lifesteal world and theo didn't make an effort to correct them), that the pvp concept is just hey let's fight each other which is FINE when eveyrone involved knows it's for content, but sooooooo many pvp'ers who aren't the big big ones are just riding the power trip and the community fosters that.

and i KNOW that the way to change how a community behaves is to make concerted active efforts to change it for the better, like minecraft speedrunning spaces are only so great because the streamers and their mods are so proactive about making them so, but i don't trust tubbo to be in charge of that because of his moderation approach and how many red flags i've gotten from people on his staff of various projects he's run.

Just the shear amount of "lesbian" songs that are played on his stream, not that music necessarily have a gender or sexuality tied to them but also some songs definitely do in at least the way that the song is sung by a lesbian singing about being a lesbian. i just noticed that there is a very decent percentage of songs infume listens to that are explicitly lesbian/feminist in a way that's yk. again, not saying a guy can't listen to those, but still. as a cis man i sometimes feel like it's kind of not my place to listen to them so i guess thats why they stand out to me that much, and that's most definitely a me problem that i should look at.

generally i think that quite a few of the mcsr creators listen to "lesbian" music - chappell roan comes to mind instantly but there's a lot of generally feminist and sapphic music created by female artists on infume's playlists, fein's, silverr's, and more that i don't really watch regularly but I've seen listen to similar things when i've popped in

that being said, infume's love for laufey and beabadoobee and other music that's soft/gentle/hyper-feminine in a way is still significant compared to the others imo. those two being two of the first women he mentions when asked to name any women also lets us know he like. thinks a lot about them? at least that they - and their art - are present in his mind a lot. i often think about how excited he is when talking about the laufey concert he went to, or how he chose a laufey song to sing to lifesteal world to be like 'this is how much i've loved my time here and i've appreciated you all'. me when i latch onto an artist and realize later it's because i wanna be them (cough cough, chappell roan)

i get what you're saying about being a cis man listening to these, i really do, but also art is for anyone who chooses to engage with it. genuinely, if you take something away from that music, that's beautiful. whether infume is actually listening to it for trans reasons or because of anything else it represents (imo mainly femininity in a confident and joyous expression, loving being a woman or being with women), there's obviously a connection to something there that's not "what a cishet man should listen to". i'm glad you find joy in this music!

also this reminds me i need to tell you all at some point how much i think snow white by laufey can be a trans allegory and how it can be applied to transfem infume
