Do you think ragatha teached jax how to play those only two songs he mentioned?
Ever since I found out that Jax can play the piano a little (I was spoiled by a leak), I have been thinking thoughts about the implications of Ragatha having a piano in her room.
Ragatha teaching Jax to play (before everything went to shit) is definitely one of them, but I’ve also considered pre-circus Jax trying to learn piano as a means of being good enough at *something* to impress her dad, but she's only kind of okay at it and it furthers her feelings of being a disappointment and a failure. From then it branches out to:
Ragatha being classically trained in piano and helping Jax get better at it (similar to the idea in the ask)
Ragatha being classically trained in cello, but not piano, and Jax teaching her the little bit of piano he knows
Jax sneaking into Ragatha's room to secretly play the piano; Ragatha is aware of it and likes to listen, but neither of them talk about it. Jax won't, because it means acknowledging that she's letting Ragatha see this part of her and her past. Ragatha won't, because she's scared Jax will stop and shut her out of this too.
Jax never acknowledging the piano in Ragatha's room; neither of them knowing whether the other can play it or not, even at the very end. It's a metaphor, or something.
I don’t really have anything set in stone. There’s lots of interesting directions to take it!
(I alternated between using he/she pronouns for Jax, hope that isn't too confusing)
