He's definitely concussed.

Some illustrations where I wasn't particularly satisfied with the composition/posing/anatomy. Some I'll complete/fix once I have the motivation and inspiration, lol.

Drew this last night at like 5am: wanted to do more for this Au idea where Maul is rescued a couple years into his training with Sidious by Qui Gon & Kenobi. But since he was rescued (Maul thinks he’s been captured) he’s a hissing feral mess, doesn’t let anyone get near him. Trust issues through the roof, especially since Sidious isn’t coming for him, except for maybe neutralising him - so he’s absolutely terrified, almost like a feral cat.

The council can see what’s happened: a talented Force-Sensitive child taken from his home and basically tortured in the ways of the Dark Side, so they decide to try and help him.

Padawan Obi Wan is now responsible for helping this feral Dathomiran teenager adjust. Since they’re both the same age, and Obi Wan was there when they found him, the council asks if he can help calm him down (tame him lmfao).

And once Maul realises a couple months in that no one’s going to hurt or kill him, he starts matching Kenobi’s sarcasm/sass - and Obi Wan is constantly on the verge of strangling him… but the temple guards won’t let him.

Also I included a quick thing with his eyes because I think when he got rescued it was just in time before the Dark Side fully corrupted him & his appearance, so he has a permanent discolouration in his eyes with a tiny bit of yellow & veins - but this gets more severe whenever he feels intense emotion, which then takes a couple days to ‘heal’ afterwards.
