FAQ
Wait, you're the creator of Juno?!
I am! :) Not a lot of reposters tend to credit me for their Juno posts, but yes, she's my oc! (Honestly that's my fault for not signing my artwork lol. Never found a signature I liked.)
2. Can you draw my [insert OC/ship here]?
I'm always happy to do art trades or commissions if you're interested in having me draw something for you! Just hit me up either here or on any of my other socials and we can chat about it! Just be warned, I am SUPER slow with trades.
3. I have a question about running a zine. Can you help me?
Absolutely! I'd love to answer any questions about zines, as I've been in over 10 of them and am running 2, haha. Open my dms and toss them all my way!
4. Can I draw/write about your OC?
Always, yes! I'm always flattered and floored about ANYTHING people make of Juno. I will scream to the high heavens and share it everywhere!
5. Is it true you dislike Techphee?
I mean, I guess? I don't care what people ship at all. Remember, I'm aroace and don't even see the appeal of conventional romance to begin with. I have my personal feelings on it which I've politely shared in my own spaces, of which you are free to ignore! The TDLR is I just think it isn't a good representation of how you should write romance with an autistic character, and the canon writing makes me uncomfy. Seeing it reminds me a lot of many bad experiences I had growing up. I'm super close friends with MANY Techphee shippers and I wholly support their enjoyment of it! ❤️ You just won't see me engage with or share its content.
6. Can I use your art as an avatar/wallaper/etc?
For sure! I don't mind, go ahead. Just please don't use my work commerically!
7. When is Long Way Home coming out?
... eventually...
8. Where can I find you?
I am @/Wrenkenstein on every social platform. Super easy to find me! And you might also find my secret dragon art alt. ;)

Tech is here to wish you a HAPPY PRIDE!! I've always seen him as my flavor of aroace, that being the "no romance or sex" kind, and using him as my representation has helped me loads in feeling more confident about myself! I hope he can bring you all that same joy and pride!!
There has never not been a time in this fandom where the existence of aroace headcanons for Tech has not been contested. As an aroace person who is also autistic, and who has been fighting the battle against acephobia in this fandom for almost 4 years now... I'd like to talk about that.
For the entire duration of my time in this fandom, I have always pushed for aroace acceptance and representation in fandom media. This has largely been through my personal content with Tech, and my introduction of an aroace partner for him. And while I have gotten overwhelming support for these two over the years, I have also been met with extremely concerning pushback.
Death threats, anonymous messages, angry shippers telling me that my interpretation of Tech as a character is wrong and harmful, despite it being a 1:1 reflection of my own identity. I write and treat Tech as aroace because it makes me feel seen. Me, who is of the type of person where representation is solely restricted to harmful stereotypes, has found immense joy and comfort in making Tech aroace.
I do believe that this largely comes from the wave of fandom purity culture that followed the dreaded virus. In an attempt to protect a certain group of people, those in fandom will try and erase anything that they deem as harmful to that group - often erasing the very group they meant to protect in the process.
In our fandom, this is VERY prevalent. So let me speak on behalf of the many autistic and aroace folks I've met when I say;
If you do not believe that Tech can be aroace, or are of the belief that it is a "bad stereotype" for autistic people, this tells us that you believe romance is the checkmark for maturity as a human being, and that a lack of romantic attraction makes someone less of an adult. This also conveys to us that you see romance as the sole thing that makes someone a human - Because you believe an aroace headcanon "dehumanizes" and automatically "infantalizes" an autistic person.
... Are you seeing the issue here?
Aroace people are not any less mature than anyone else, simply due to their lack of romantic attraction. Likewise, they are not less human because of that either. Aroace people like me make the choice not to pursue romantic relationships because we simply have no interest in it. I am a fully functioning adult with a vibrant life that is not lacking in any regard or capacity due to the absence of romantic or sexual relationships. It is insulting to me that people think of me as less "mature" or less "human" because of my own personal choice to exclude these factors from my life. Similarly, it is harmful to see people be so adverse to Tech headcanons of a similar nature, under the guise of these things inherently being 'bad'.
Now, here are some common arguments given to me against this.
- People use it as an excuse or to be harmful/ableist towards autistic people!
I will be completely honest; it is extremely easy to spot an aroace headcanon for Tech, or for any autistic character, that is intentionally malicious.
You'll often find that someone who creates this content is not shy about showing, writing or displaying Tech in ways that are evidently infantalized or dehumanizing. Simply look at the subtext. Is this person creating aroace content for themselves and their own representation, or are they doing it because they do not believe autistic people can feel attraction? Are they displaying this belief in their writing or art?
If they are? Block them. It's as simple as that.
- Tech can't be aroace because Phee exists!
To this, I have quite a number of responses.
Firstly, aroace people are more than capable of being in relationships with others. Both segments of the identity are a spectrum of attraction, and this spectrum will look different for everyone. To say Tech is aroace does not automatically void him of the potential of a relationship. I have many friends who write and view him as aroace, and maintain that in Techphee as a ship. I, myself, write him as being involved in an aroace relationship. I am in one myself. Being aroace does not suddenly mean you can't be in a relationship - it is meant to describe your experience with attraction.
Secondly, remember that Techphee as a ship is not endgame. These are two characters who do not end up together. Even if the book expands on Tech's thoughts towards Phee and his mindset, the ending of the show will remain the same. It is perfectly reasonable that people may glean interpretations from this that align with Tech being aroace, adverse in various regards, etc. Likewise, it's perfectly fine to interpret the text as him being any other queer identity. Nobody is making you change your views, so please don't heckle others into doing the same.
Thirdly, remember that fandom is BUILT on the back of queer headcanons. If you trace fandom, OCs and the like back to their roots, all avenues will point you towards gay/mlm Star Trek content - even while the male characters in the show display open attraction to women. This has never stopped anyone, and it never will. Hell, Star Wars is built on it in a similar fashion. Despite Anakin and Padme being in a formal, canon relationship, there are THOUSANDS who write and treat Anakin as a gay man. The same applies for Obi-Wan and Satine, or even Ahsoka, who went as far as kissing Lux. Fandom is a means to represent yourself, and has always been a safe space for queer exploration. Do not exclude aroace people from that privilege.
- Why can't he just be happy?
This implies aroace people cannot be happy...? Which is a genuinely harmful rhetoric. To be happy and fulfilled in life does not mean one has to be in a relationship. It never has.
I am happy. Most aroace people I know are perfectly happy and content with their lives, their friendships and the connections with people they make. Our quality of life is not dampened by the lack of sexual or romantic connections we make. I'd argue it's bolstered by our ability to breeze through life without those aspects interrupting the things we want to do.
While this argument, and those who are angered by autistic/aroace headcanons ebb and flow like the waves, it is still disheartening to see the tides against aroace representation rise again everytime someone attempts to try and explore it. It makes me and many others feel unsafe and unwelcome in this fandom. I am frequently reminded of a Twitter post I made eons ago, which gained a small amount of traction on here...
In closing, let's all remember that we're here because we love Tech. He has been a massive milestone of importance in my life, as I am sure he has been for many others. We are all going to express our interest in this character in different ways - and that's okay! Do not rush to erase someone elses interpretation of a character simply because it is different than yours. Everyone has a right to explore this character, themselves, and anything else in their orbit.
Educate yourself on the topic of aroace identities, their frequency and relationship with autism, and how it impacts those who fall underneath both labels, as opposed to immediately running to cry "ableism".
Because whether you like it or not, there will always be autistic people who are aroace, and there always have been.
Happy pride everyone! Annual bump of this post, and a reminder that it is just as important as ever that we fight for our place in fandom - both here in TBB, and in life as a whole!
So... About the fanfiction.lol site that is being shared... I am someone that has a little web dev experience, have done several coding projects and am an IT professional. I did a minor investigation on this and here are my thoughts:
So what this is is a guy who I guess does front end dev work (think make websites pretty and maybe give them content) and wants to break out into full stack dev work (also add in the back end dev work which is about content hosting, user profile management, how the website is shared to the Internet etc).
This guy forks Ao3's code (which means he made a full copy of it, which is allowed based on the copyright Ao3 has) to then play at being a full stack dev without actually building any of the code or realistically most of the infrastructure. He is learning to do this from other people who also forked Ao3's code and regularly update their versions of Ao3 with the updates Ao3 puts out. Again, there is nothing legally wrong with that but yeah it's a scummy as fuck coding practice. All these sites are color overs of Ao3 with their own lil gimmicks and special takes. This site's is the 'no waiting' for sign ups and every tag is canon (which it already kinda is on Ao3 but just not wrangled).
Now here is the issue I see as an IT professional and coder myself
This guy admits he does not have full stack experience. This site is hosted on a private server he built himself as he is learning to do that, and he posted a guide for that too. My concern for this site isn't even AI scraping, it's your private data like passwords and email. Many people use the same password across many sites, and he doesn't have the background in full stack to provide top tier security on his site. He also hand built his server, again that is a security risk.
Also to consider, we don't know this guy at all. HE is a security risk. Are you wanting to share your email and password with him? His sever is going to host that information and he will have access to it. Do you trust him not to sell it?
This site's big gimmick is the no waiting for an account. My alarm bells are ringing that this is a perfect strike point for vulnerable data. He could be a genuine guy (and I am not claiming he isn't) and have all the fancy bells and whistles for security but I don't know that and right now our private information is the hot commodity every company wants to buy. He may have the best intentions but that doesn't matter to someone that is looking to strike for information. Post there if you want I won't stop you and I won't stop him from having this forked site, but I beg you, please use a unique password for this site for your own security. ((Honestly a really good practice in general too!)) I don't want anyone to get accounts broken into because of this.
TL:DR - I don't trust this. I don't care if I'm risking a loss if Ao3 collapses, I rather trust my personal data to a board of people that can keep each other in check and servers that have a track record for data security.
IDK why you guys are flaming Tre when they're actively working in IT and code professionally on like... a day-to-day basis. Regardless as to this persons intentions, if he is not equipped to handle a security breach, then your data and info is not safe and you are at risk for using the platform. It isn't about whether or not the people behind the site are trustworthy - it's about whether or not it's safe to use your own repeated data on an amateur website that can't protect you. I'd trust the professional It worker over some internet rando anyday, personally 🤷
you are an internet stranger to me in the same way brennan is to your friend. also brennan is a professional developer. your friend said some stupid shit and being a professional does not clear them from facing consequences for saying dumb shit from people who know what they're talking about
Tre is also a professional developer. You can be an attack dog to internet randoms all you want, but at the end of the day, if you're going to use the site, just use it. Honestly, the fact you reply with such vitriol and anger when someone is just coming in here with basic internet literacy 101 tells me you're too immature to be able to see that this isn't even a dispute worthy of 'consequences'. It's someone concerned for your internet safety trying to inform people to make wary decisions with who you trust with your data. If that bothers you, then just block them and continue on with your day lmao
yeah you're just concern trolling at this point. this is not worth my time or effort but please the both of you continue to make fools of yourselves by not knowing how passwords are stored in databases, it's very funny
