I'm generally against the creative advice that "You need to interact with x piece of media in order to understand the themes of y so you can make z." Like "you can't understand sci-fi enough to write about it 'till you've watched the original Star Trek" or whatever.
Because interacting with a acclaimed classic can be helpful, I think that it's dangerous to imply that one single piece of media is the arbiter of any medium/genre. What if you've mostly read sci-fi and not watched it? what if you're insipration is something more local/from your country and not American? there's a thousand ways to come to understand the genre, and no singular media can decide if you've mastered it or not.
THAT BEING SAID. I genuinely believe every writer who mostly writes male characters (well) should watch Fleabag to have a better understanding of how to write female characters. It shouldn't be the only thing of that nature you watch, and you should understand that it's a very specific perspective that's being presented in that show. BUT! I think it's such a rich piece in the sense that even if you end up disliking it, or having criticisms, elaborating on that dislike and on those criticisms will have taught you more about writing a flawed female character.

I can feel Peeta press his forehead into my temple and he asks, "So now that you've got me, what are you going to do with me?"
I turn in to him. "Put you somewhere you can't get hurt."
