"Sure,â Dean said with a slight tilt of his head to the right before he shook his head at Charlie. There were more questions than answers but that was something that always seemed to happen around anything related to science. Science and magic - two of the things that Dean was sure that Daniels would never be able to understand, ever. Period. Even if he tried his damnedest. Dean leaned backed in the office chair he sat on and looked over to the incubation tube that Amber was in before he frowned. âSo, right now, youâre just waiting for Amber to wake up from the depths of whatever sheâs in and then âŚ,â Dean tilted his head back to the other side and looked over to Charlie, then slowly rose an eyebrow before he sighed. Then he frowned and said, âThen what happens? You two go right back to being a pair of inter-planetary travelers-slash-thieves?â Dean pressed his lips together and frowned then said, âYou two have so much potential and you could do so much more. Especially in this world.â
"You need to work on sounding believable," Charlie retorted, followed by a snort then a quick jerk up. Â He shrugged his shoulders and then folded his arms behind his head as he put his legs on the desk in front of him. Â Honestly, Dean asked a lot of questions about where things where headed and how it would go but Charlie didn't have any answers for him. Â For the first time, Charlie was the one without any answers and although this was something that would have irritated him to the fullest ...Charlie was getting used to not having all the answers and that shit? Â That was a relief of pressure. Â "If this is a pitch at trying to get us to be part of your rag-tag group of heroes it's not working," Charlie responded with a shrug and said, "I'm not fond of the hero business. Â Not like you guys are." Â There were a lot of people who suited that job, but he knew that he wasn't; Â Charlie had different agendas in mind, especially when it came down to the world that they were living in. Â "You're the hero, man," Charlie decided and then he shrugged, "I'm just the side character who'll randomly pop up and help when you're half-dead and running out of options. Â Incidentally, I'd be the most popular character with my short appearances in your comic."
