"First of all, no.  Gross, thatâs disgusting.  Sheâs like a very inconsistent step-mother to me.  Like the fourth step-mother, not the first three,â Charlie replied and shrugged as he watched Dean take a seat.  He chuckled.  Charlie never considered Dean to be stupid but for all the credit he gave Dean, sometimes, Dean sounded like a hunk of dumb.  Charlie shrugged and said, âIt was already incubating when I took over her labs.  Like she asked.â  He stressed the last part, just in case Dean didnât believe him.  With a quick eyeroll, Charlie added, âShe always spoke about her fail-safe.  Once when we were in Udragoth, she mentioned how she raised clones and how her memories had been extracted from her and copied.â  Charlie leaned back in the chair and looked up at the ceiling, âApparently, if her clone wakes, sheâs got something set to insert those memories back into that thing.â  Charlie pointed at the test tube Amber, âIf it ever wakes up.â  He shrugged, âSounds in-fucking-sane, but then again, she threw you in the hyperbolic time chamber âŚso, this sounds very plausible, no?â
"Sure," Dean said with a slight tilt of his head to the right before he shook his head at Charlie. There were more questions than answers but that was something that always seemed to happen around anything related to science. Science and magic - two of the things that Dean was sure that Daniels would never be able to understand, ever. Period. Even if he tried his damnedest. Dean leaned backed in the office chair he sat on and looked over to the incubation tube that Amber was in before he frowned. "So, right now, you're just waiting for Amber to wake up from the depths of whatever she's in and then ...," Dean tilted his head back to the other side and looked over to Charlie, then slowly rose an eyebrow before he sighed. Then he frowned and said, "Then what happens? You two go right back to being a pair of inter-planetary travelers-slash-thieves?" Dean pressed his lips together and frowned then said, "You two have so much potential and you could do so much more. Especially in this world."
