For the crossoververse, I'm assuming Mac doesn't see his family anymore (save for his family at Fosters), so I wanted to ask, has he ever met Professor Utonium after he and Bubbles started dating?
Mac and Bubbles started dating their senior year of high school, and he met the Professor shortly after. He was incredibly nervous cause unfortunately Mac tends to associate dads and father figures with bad memories of his own dad, but once learning that the Professor is safe,he just latched on immediately. He treats the Professor like he might as well be his father-in-law already.
Also you’re right. In his adulthood, Mac completely cuts ties with his mom and brother. Obviously we’d know why he cuts ties with Terrence, but I write Mac’s relationship with his mom as something more complicated. It was something that was deteriorating the older he got and the less she could really “control” him. Not that she was willingly controlling, but I read her as someone who was pushing Mac to grow up despite being so young.
Idk this is all just headcanon at this point, but I think she could see the kind of person Terrence was becoming and really did not want Mac to end up the same way, so she pushed him to become mature a lot faster mainly out of a need to feel like she’s doing something right. Unfortunately Mac went through a severe burn out, he started rebelling, his mom grew harsher cause it felt like he was becoming like Terrence (he wasn’t but still), cut to the present and they no longer talk.
