Are we SURE Spectres can't eat/absorb dead students' orbs—

I actually thinked about this for a while now.

I think Nevermore is a way for other souls to feed on the students. Maybe a whole feast? The students that fail perhaps even the student that succeeds is eaten by the Deans and other souls? We know that Deans get help from the lost souls outside they might be offering them supply of souls.

I'm absolutely positive no one is actually getting out of this academy alive even if they play perfectly and are the last one standing. For sure the Deans probably devour them in the end. The Raven did say the academy is just there for them to entertain themselves, after all.

The whole train of the dead thing is very underdeveloped as of now, don't know if the Deans are being truthful about that or if, indeed, the students who fail are just given up to be eaten (to who?) Is there even a land of the dead? Considering they pointed out a specific area for where the train is, we'll probably visit it at some point and see for ourselves.

Nevermore is outright stated by the Raven to sort of "starve" the spirits outside. Everything deteriorated after the Deans' arrival so they don't have a lot of friends beyond the gates of the school, so I don't know if we know they get help from the spirits outside.

The orbs in the very first chapter were specifically trying to prevent Lenore and Annabel from entering, and the Stag being there doesn't necessary mean it was purposefully trying to lure them in the building if we're assuming it's the Curse and it was there for Lenore.

The Raven, as well, doesn't like the Deans and would rather get rid of them.

We still don't know what Poppet and Dolly are. Are they spirits, or some kind of constructs?

The Raven did say that back a while ago spirits would lead students that came to Nevermore to the horizon aka the chance of being alive. Every person had a chance of having their own route and their own way. Than Deans bringed this system in. Leading a bunch of students die, for what their enjoyment? It’s Ofcourse for the better of them. Why didn’t the other spirits rise against them if like the Raven said that the Deans got the meaning out of them. It’s because all sides get something out of it. The spirits under Deans control get a part of the Feast aka students souls.

Reason that Deans are trying to separate Lenore and Annabel Lee apart might be because they might cause some type of problem.
