- allen and mana get established as father and son, only for us to find out that their bond was less father-and-son and more mentally ill man and his friend who was a child bc he thought he was seventeen despite being in his forties. like mana didn’t actually raise allen as much as allen took care of HIM bc he was mentally ill to the point of running into traffic over his hallucinations. like that was not a father and child. that was two homeless people who took care of each other the only way a child and a mentally stunted man could.

- the noah clan get established as an extended family with a patriarch, uncles, and kids, but gradually we find out that these people all had lives before the nosh gene activation, and were essentially forced into this caricature of a family bc of the intense pains associated with past lives’ memories and stigmata, and they just CAN’T leave this shit. even tho once upon a time, one of their own betrayed and killed them. even tho the EARL could kill them. instead they’re waiting to be sacrificed to kickstart the next reincarnation cycle, essentially sacrifices to the d.gray-manverse’s Abrahamic god.
