If I see any about Gerry Adams I might actually die

Omg i would be in tears if I saw a Gerry Adams one, I hate that old man so much. The fics doesn’t bother me, a lot of the time they just writing about the character from say nothing rather than the real Brendan mostly as the show Brendan is pretty different than the real guy plus it’s get more people to learn about the troubles and republicanism, I read some of them. I don’t think it shocking though with the fics, people have always have crushes on revolutionists. a lot of girls my generation and older gens in the republican community I am from always had crushes on like Che Guevara and others.

It was a lot more complicated than me just being ashamed , i wasn’t totally ashamed of being a half catholic. I’ve always had pride for what my republican family fought and died for, it was my very Catholic republican mum who raised me after all. The reason I had a complicated relationship with being a mixed half Catholic half prod was because of my father’s hometown, Newtownards. I saw nothing but hate for Catholics and republicans so i never felt welcomed and was treated like a outsider
