But it seems like Maws Lex doesn’t have a reason to hate Superman besides his xenophobia. We don’t know his backstory, or if he’s secretly jealous of Superman’s attention. When you reduce Lex’s hatred to just alien racism, it makes him a lot less interesting. Hoping he gets more character development this season, but it isn't looking likely...

Setting aside the fact that he's a villain and a Superman biggest number one fan who insists he's a hater, I genuinely think Lex might be one of the best bosses and CEO in DC Comics and possibly one of the biggest AI haters ever.

Think about it. Lex is a firm believer in human potential, to an almost absurd degree. He believes humanity has limitless potential and that humans are capable of conquering virtually any challenge through intelligence, determination, and innovation alone. With that mindset, it wouldn't surprise me if part of the reason LexCorp thrives is because he genuinely believes in both himself and the people he employs.

Now, the way he treats his employees varies from one continuity to another. It's debatable since he's still a villain, after all. But I like to think he treats competent employees fairly because he understands the value of human talent better than most people. To Lex, human potential is the most valuable resource in existence.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he banned generative AI throughout LexCorp. Why would a man obsessed with proving humanity's superiority want machines doing humanity's work? Lex would probably see AI as a shortcut that weakens the very thing he values most, human achievement.

That's part of what makes him such an interesting character. Beneath all the ego, pettiness, and obsession with Superman is someone who genuinely believes humanity can stand at the top of the universe through its own efforts. If only he wasn't so determined to prove that point by picking fights with a flying Samaritan in a red cape.
