it's Damien's birthday today, and I don't even have any of my old negatives that I took of him when I was a kid and went to his shows to photograph him. everyone has been posting about doylestown all of a sudden, I keep seeing ads around Baltimore about preventing overdose, and I think this is the first time in the less than a year that he's passed that it's hit me. I listened to shady retreat on my way home from work and just bawled. him and his music and his presence in my hometown was such an important part of my growing up. I remember every interaction I had with him. I remember being rude to him when he asked for my friends number. I remember telling everyone at siren to shush. I remember blushing whenever I spoke to him because he was such an influence on me and continues to be. this is not what I needed during this time. I don't need to be reminded that he passed. that he would have been 31. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.
