I don't think those two things really contradict each other.

First, it's kind of a guy thing. Getting called "daddy" by someone you're already involved with can stroke your ego. It can make you feel wanted or like your partner is leaning on you emotionally.

(it can mean she's a needy mess, wants more from him, or is trying to turn him on)

That's very different from saying he's specifically attracted to women with "daddy issues."

When Lane says that, he's also talking about the kind of people who approach him. He puts on this obnoxious playboy persona, so people tend to see him as someone who's only good for a casual fling, not a serious relationship.

Well, Laly already kind of confirmed that Lub knows. 

I just don't think he says anything because he knows Lane is the biggest, most gigantic ball of denial imaginable. If Lub ever pointed out that Lane is hopelessly in love with the MC, Lane would probably deny it with his entire soul.

In shift 2 lane just.. shamelessly opens the door shirtless, Would he react differently if MC was generally really shy around him without clothes? Maybe not in general just like when he’s unclothed. (Shameless mf) I get the sense if they were dating he’d do it more often just to get a reaction.

Honestly, whether you're shy or not, he's still opening that door completely shirtless. That shameless streak is just who he is, and he couldn't care less if your eyes are all over him, he loves self-advertising and showing off what's (soon to be) yours.

If anything, knowing you get flustered around his body would only drive him to do it way more often, just to watch you blush, squirm, and try desperately not to stare at his chest and stomach.

Ludwig is basically a shyer version of Lane. hes still a dumbass dude, like he laughs at dark jokes, says the first stupid thing that comes to mind, and has the maturity of a highschooler.

but the difference is that Ludwig isnt nearly as loud or confident. hes awkward around people he doesnt know, but once hes comfortable, good luck getting him to shut up.

hes the kind of person wholl suddenly say "wait, man, i have to show you something" then spend the next 30 minutes pulling up photos, memes, obscure youtube videos or random facts about whatever hes currently obsessed with. his enthusiasm is infectious, even if you dont care at all about what hes saying.

like Lane, Ludwig loves to yap. the difference is that Lane yaps because he likes hearing himself talk, while Ludwig yaps because he genuinely wants to share things he thinks are cool.

hes also much easier to read. Lane hides behind confidence, flirting and sarcasm. Ludwig doesnt really know how to hide what hes feeling.

if hes embarrassed, you can tell. if hes excited, everyone knows and hed never be the one pretending he "doesnt care." (lemme tell you he was hurt when he "had to" ignore Lane in highschool and Lane pretended not to care about him.)

Lub is basically Lane if he had grown up in a more functional family. Lane is basically Lub if he had more backbone and stood up for himself more.

They're both flawed because nobody is perfect, but that's exactly why they work so well together. They naturally make up for what the other lacks.

Through Lub, you get to see who Lane is underneath all the flirting, fake confidence, sarcasm, and the dumbass persona he hides behind. Through Lane, you get to understand just how much loyalty and trust Lub has in him, and how much Lane quietly trusts Lub in return.

Is Lub important to Lane?

He already makes it obvious.

He literally calls him his soul brother.

For someone like Lane, that's basically his version of saying "He's family." Lane isn't the kind of person to make long, emotional speeches about the people he loves. He'd probably just look at you like you asked the most obvious question in the world.

"Duh. That's my best friend."

Their bond isn't built on grand declarations. It's built on years of loyalty, mutual respect, shared history, and the certainty that they'll always have each other's backs, even after all the stupid fights and bad decisions. That's why they've stayed friends for so long. They understand each other in a way very few people ever will <3

They're soul brothers.

high school Laney's hair was so heavily gelled that it looked like hed poured liquid glue on it.

Amy would sometimes do his hair for school picture day or when he had "dates" but most of the time Lane would just take an insane amount of gel and slick his hair back because he thought it made him look like a mafia guy or something.

Serkan is probably also stinky BUT he has the excuse of working in a garage, just like BB.😎

tho he always wears his work clothes when repairing a vehicle, unlike BB who just wears his own clothes and uses them like napkins. and Serkan sometimes uses BB as a napkin too.
