A song that never fails to cheer me up. I suspect that Bobby Hebb (yeah, the guy who recorded Sunny) recorded the original, but I heard this version first, and I prefer Len Barry’s raspy voice. Len Barry was the lead singer of the Dovells, and had a hit with 1-2-3. I was gonna use the phrase “blue eyed soul” but I think I prefer to say that he’s a goofy looking white guy with a great soul voice.
