What is DR:CR?

Deltarune: Chasing Rainbows is an AU where a Dark World is made within my room. A Deltaroom if you will. The creator of the dark world is not me, and also they are not important to the story, if you want a concrete answer, uhhh gaster did it iunno-

Who is in DR:CR?

Tuse (any/all): I was just asleep when the fountain opened. Now I gotta deal with this AND go to work in the morning. Ugh.

Mobi (they/them): Former leader of the Tycon workforce, now teamed up to take them out.

X. & S. Tycon (he/him, she/her): Owners of X.S. Mining, and leaders/exploiters of The Roomdocks for a mysterious substance.

Habub (it/its): A wind spirit caged near the Bedlands to encourage moving out.

Styla (she/her): A bandit leader who has made it her life’s duty to take down the twins.

Det. Blinkerton (he/him): A private eye who’s not the brightest, but Tycon’s only security.

Nick (he/him): A simple shopkeeper who was formerly a well known rebel, now retired.

Dandy (they/them): A bartender who, though acting stoic, loves to see people have fun.

Monica (she/her): A girl with a (figurative) ear for music, she can replicate practically any song.

Ray (they/them): An illusionist who takes pride in their work, has an eye for the cosmos.

ive been working on au designs for chasing rainbows, and was planning to finish every section before posting, but im stuck and have no ideas

behold, the Aesthetic and Other sections of the AU designs

Red needs adding, yellow needs changing, and green is fine as is

Extra notes per section:

Paraphrase jevil already has a color motif, so the twins will need a new one

the Defernull twins are already evil, so im unsure on if they get even more evil or actually get nice. or, if their worst traits are amplified, what the hell thatd mean for them

Deltanova CR takes place on a moon that the twins are exploiting for argebium, which in this au is in gas form, because the entire thing is steampunk

Candleholder may not be entirely accurate but i did the best i could with the scraps i could find remaining of the au

Eldritchrune is based and fine as is

Undertale is inspired by both the spamtenna UT au and the seavil deltarune au. this one isnt a ship one though-

Chapter Rewritten, swaps my deltaroom with a friends deltarune (it was canned but they allowed me to have this anyways). Her secret boss was a Friend Inside Me thing, and so mine is a We Belong Foever thing

Deltaswap (The One With Majesty In It), swaps secret and main bosses. kept up the semi theme of media references with Eclipse referencing Space Odyssey, and Neoon (pronounced nee-oon) references underevent rather than the 10 year stream

The Other Puppet, swaps light and dark worlds, with secret bosses and party members swapping. We don't know the specifics of how the worlds are but i took the creative liberty of saying a Light Fountain is opened by holding something to the sky (neksus' dialogue got me thinking about it)

ive been chiseling away at designs and shit (most of them are ray dont get your hopes up)

but the thing is im split on if i wanna just bite the bullet and post what i have and finish the post later just to show it off, or wait until what i have is fully finished

examples of whats missing include like, lack of doodles, some folks lack designs, im missing an au

so do i post with or without that?

you might notice that ray has portraits despite being a crystal boss

this is because fuck you i do what i want (also bc i feel it makes sense for their character, and theyd only really gain if during the secret path)

The Mouseless Marauder. Number one enemy of X.S. Mining. Likes: Her gang Dislikes: Exploitation Level: 20 Attack: 12 Defense: 3 Health: 1500 Element: Steel:Order Fun Fact: She makes stops to the Bedlands every day to bring supplies.

- Blinkerton -

Tuse: ワツカイ (Watsukai), took my full online name (iwontusethis), translated it to japanese (これは使いません; kore wa tsukaimasen), and removed the equivalent of iwon and this to be left with the closest translation to "Tuse"

Mobi: ケイタ (Keita), derived from 携帯 (keitai), short for 携帯電話 (keitaidenwa), like how Mobi is short for Mobile as in Mobile Phone

Ray: ヒカル (Hikaru), didnt wanna just translate the name directly, so to keep both the "normal name" theme with their little quartet and keep the light theme, a japanese name meaning light, 'hikaru' (光)

Tycon Twins: カ タイコン & ジョー タイコン (Ka Taikon & Jou Taikon), the only characters who are transliterated, to emphasize them being Not Like Other Darkners, though the first names were changed to make the X.S. Mining name pun work, now being a play on 過剰採掘, which just means "overmining". As for Tycon Soul X, he is called タイコン ソウル 力. the first part is タイコン ソウル (Taikon Sōru) as you'd expect, but instead of having カ (Ka) in there, it uses the incredibly similar 力 (Chikara), which means strength, power, or force

Habub: スバアラシー (Subaarashii), portmanteau-esque mix of 砂嵐 (sunaarashi) meaning sandstorm and 素晴らしい (subarashii), typically meaning excellent/wonderful, but its obselete form is extreme/terrible, which fits since habub is haboob + hubub

Styla: ペンタ (Penta), i tried my whole damndest to avoid transliterations, but alas, they just dont have a unique word for stylus or drawing tablet or anything, so this is just a shortening of "pentaburetto" (ペンタブレット) which means pen tablet

Blinkerton: マタタンテー (Matatantei) due to being named after an actual company (pinkerton if it wasnt obvious), i had my work cut out for me, as no such equivalent company exists in japanese, so i made do with blink (瞬き/mabataki) and detective (探偵/tantei)

Nick: コモ (Komo), with his shop, (Nick's Knacks) is now コモの入れ (Komo no Ire; Komo’s Container)

Dandy: ゲンキ (Genki), admittedly the weakest name, but so was their english name so no harm no fowl, its a name that means healthy, energy, and the like, fitting with them being an inhaler that likes seeing people have fun, meanwhile the 気 part of it (when in hiragana and not katakana) means air, which makes sense with an inhaler

Monica: モニカ (Monika), a shortening of harmonica (ハーモニカ), as is her normal name
