It was brought to my attention tonight that I talk about my recovery/addiction frequently. Let me explain why

Drugs and alcohol completely consumed my daily life. I think it’s easy to think that I just drank on weekends and smoked some weed. I did those things, but they were just the tip of the iceberg.

Getting clean was one of the biggest events to happen in my life thus far. It is such a huge part of my life and I’m so damn proud of myself! That’s why I want to talk about it...to show that it gets better. Not sharing my testimony is a serious injustice to the world.

I talk about addiction often because it talks to me daily. My addiction talks to me in my own voice begging me to come out and play. In my head my sneaking addiction tries to romanticize the time I could have high, but I have to remember and remind myself that it’s nowhere I want to be.
