These new rules harm vulnerable populations, as individuals with serious illnesses (like early-stage cancer or HIV) may still struggle to qualify for the narrowly defined "medically frail" exemptions. After repeatedly vowing during his presidential campaign not to touch Medicaid, Trump went back on his promise and signed the nearly $1 trillion cut that the Republicans wanted, but no Democrat supported. It's estimated that 10 million people will lose their healthcare coverage. Why would Republicans do such an outrageous thing? They needed to fund the huge tax cuts for billionaires and big corporations, and they needed money to build ICE detention camps. So they decided to take benefits away from the poor and the sick to pay for those. I don't think this can be described as anything less than evil.

We truly have no choice left.
