let’s talk about the early stages of hyperfixation where you can literally feel your brain getting doses of serotonin because of a show or a movie or a person or a character and mentally you’re like ‘ooooh no’ but it’s like a blackhole you can’t run or escape from so you just gotta ride it out knowing full well the next few months maybe even years are going to be spent mindlessly obsessing over this thing

On the flip side, you catch yourself flipping through the tv shows and YouTube videos and hobbies that you used to obsess over, but find non of them interesting enough to hold your attention, so you’re left in stasis until the next hyperfixation hits

shows + movies that let their characters break down in a visible and ugly and realistic way are the best thing in the world… nothing sucks more than a piece of media that’s so dedicated to having its characters remain Cool that it won’t allow them to show real devastation and emotion outside of Badass Anger and Manly Single Tear
