They used to work very well aside from them just randomly disconnecting at times but it was easily fixable, but then they stopped working altogether for some reason a week ago.
The sound does work, but occasionally, and it stops after a little and then you have to hold it in a specific position (which doesn't even work most of the time) or else no sound will come.
This, coupled with the fact that I love listening to music most of the day, and that I don't even like earphones. They're very portable, sure, but they're uncomfortable to my ears and I miss having my headphones.
Forgot to update once again but I stole another one of my mother's headphones because the earphones stopped working as well and it's been doing great!! I missed using headphones, even though they're not mine
It feels much nicer to not worry about wether they're disconnecting from my phone and the sound is better too

It's nice to see someone who loves this work as much as I do, dedicates so much to it, and is an intelligent and sweet person who still analyses, critiques and talks about the story in general in a compelling manner.

It makes me especially glad to hear of the stuff I say that you disagree with! One of the things that upsets me the most in fandom spaces nowadays is how nobody seems to be inclined to listen to an opini on that's different from theirs anymore. I'm thinking about Akutagawa looking at Atsushi during night. You know, according to canon Akutagawa only sleeps two hours at night. Considering the constant vigilance that got ingrained in him from spending his childhood in the slums, and the general abuse he underwent after, it really doesn't come off as surprising that he would have trouble sleeping. But, after he and Atsushi got together, and after they started sleeping together, tooâ at least now Akutagawa has something to look at during his restless nights. And it's sweet to have something to entertain himself with, for a change; it doesn't help make Akutagawa fall asleep, but it's still a presence soothing enough to put his suffocating thoughts to rest for a while. Now, rather than the engulfing darkness, he can observe Atsushi's peaceful sleeping face instead, amuse himself with the silly faces he makes while dreaming, try and lull him if he senses a nightmare approaching, even. Glance at the moonlight spilling on his hair, trace the outline of his jaw uncaring of waking him up. Pretend that he's protecting Atsushi as he sleeps, that he's still in the slums guarding over his family at night; or pinch him and wake him up on a whim, just to see Atsushi insult him and then return to sleep again immediately, just to be reminded that there's someone next to him now, someone who broke through the veil of loneliness, someone who willingly sticks around.
And it's in these little things, I think, that sskk make each other's lives a little better. It's not about curing Akutagawa's insomnia, it's about making it a little more peaceful.

Can you talk about why you feel the way you do about the female bsd characters? (including the female characters you like) and while I don't think the author doesn't know how to write female characters I think the biggest problem with the female characters is that they're underutilized and barely have much screentime ( the most one we saw recently having screentime currently in the manga is teruko)
Hi!! I love you all SO much but seriously I don't have the mental stability to talk about why the bsd female characters are badly written ahah. Here's my best attempt at it:
I hope it's enough for me to say there's a female / male characters proportion of like 1:10, and no female character has any real repercussion on the plotâ literally. Besides from Kyouka and Lucy and maybe Yosano? you could hypothetically erease every other female character and... Realistically, nothing would change. That's just how much irrelevant all but three female characters are, and there's already very few compared to the rest of the male cast. The four main / most popular characters are all males. Dazai is openly sexist and it's just kind of there never to be addressed. Akutagawa is repetedly violent with his female coworker and it's treated as a gag (like you DO realize how repulsive it is to write a character who is obsessed with her abuser and never be intentioned to elaborate on that because I guess that's what women are supposed to do according to author? Like. okay). But honestly the main issue for me is how each of them literally gravitates around another male character. God, it's SO annoying. And I mean every single of them!!! Every. single. Every single!!!! I struggle to come up with even one exception to the pattern. Kyouka has Atsushi as her savior, Lucy has Atsushi as her savior, Higuchi is obsessed with Akutagawa, Naomi is obsessed with Jun'ichirou, Gin literally exists because of Akutagawa, Alcott is just there to aid Fitzgerald, Margaret's only role in the story is to save Hawthorne, Elise is just expression of Mori. Teruko is a person in the body of a child who literally drools over her 50-something superior, like we hadn't as a society come to the common agreement that the ânot as old as she looksâ trope was disgusting pedophilia apologism like ten years ago (but it's okay though, because pedophilia was established to be okay in this manga at like, chapter 15 or something) (is this the good time to bring up that time Aya asked Kunikida out? No? Okay let's just collectively pretend that never happened). Do I need to go on? I haven't read Gaiden, but do I really need to read it to know Tsujimura gravitates around Ayatsuji? Oh wait, I was just remembered about Gaiden's full title: Bungou Stray Dogs Gaiden: Ayatsuji Yukito VS. Kyougoku Natsuhiko, and if that doesn't speak of the consideration author gives their female characters, I don't know what does. It's justâ no female character is ever going to have their own novel. No female character is ever going to be protagonist. They'll just keep being treated as they've always been so far, like flat and personality-less disposable plot devices.
Now. I love Yosano's backstory, I really do- I think it was the best executed arc of the manga, reading those two chapter still gives me chills. But you do have to acknowledge, Yosano herself has no agency in the entire arc development. It's okay, she was eleven, it's natural; but she is just tossed one way to the other by other characters. That, and I can't stretch it enough, is not a bad thing on its own; not all stories have to scream #womanpower to be good stories. It's a good story. But you need to acknowledge it does nothing to empower female characters' role in this manga; it just speaks once again of it being a systematic problem, how author can't write female characters like they were masters of their fate if their life depended on it. And it's not that just because there's one (1) mini arc that happens to have a female character as its protagonist, author knows how to write female characters with depth, or agenda, or an objective, or personality, because... They clearly don't.
Like. I probably became annoying by now but like. When was the last time you found any bsd fan whose favorite character was a woman? When was the last time you found people describing themselves as a Lucy kinnie? If you ask me, it's not a matter of fans' fault for overlooking female characters; the female characters in this franchise are meant to be overlooked, because they're abysmally less stretched out and complex compared to their male counterpartsâ because male characters are distinctive and unique, while author can't go outside the range of one-dimensional femme fatale, letal woman (Yosano, Kouyou, Teruko, Christie, Gin / Lucy / Elise too to an extent) and woman who's just there to obsess over a male character (Alcott, Higuchi). But do not fret, because author will sometimes go outside that scheme by making a letal femme fatale who also obsesses over a male character! (Naomi). Also this

Okay but you see the problem here? You see how it's impossible to make the same kind of argument for the male characters, because they're all diverse and various and multilayered as much as their little screentime allows? Higuchi doesn't exist outside Akutagawa, Lucy doesn't exist outside Atsushi; but it's not like you can say the same goes the other way round. That is, crossing out the various parallels drawn between male characters, but that only speaks more of how precisely curated male characters are, while all female characters... I'll be honest, aren't written as people. Author really sounds like your average Washington Post best selling psychological thriller author of the week that writes women like an alien species from another planet. It would have spared me having been writing this whole post for an hour (two hours? Which is definitely not the time I wanted to spend on this, man) if only author would have formed the thought, at the start of the serialization: âperhaps! Perhaps I should write women as people instead of writing them as female characters (whatever that means)â. Alas, we ended up with the infamous Naomi description from Untold Origins (what the fuck. who in their right mind would ever think of writing something like that. what the fuck.)
Now, I know if you're here reading this you most definitely like bsd. It's okay, really. Unpopular opinion, but people are perfectly allowed to like things that are flawed (and this is a big flaw). What's extremely important, seriously, I'm on my knees begging you, is to be critical of the media you consume. All kinds of media. Even if you end up disagreeing with me on this matter, really!! Just be able to tell apart the things that make appealing a series for you from whatever kind of agenda / worldview the author is pushing through, and peacefully acknowledge you can like something despite it having issues (because bsd has issues). I don't know who needs to hear this, but someone definitely does: âI love s/kk!!â âthe bsd storytelling has many compelling aspects!!â and âI recognize the bsd writing has flaws some of which actively harm an already disadvantaged part of societyâ are statements that can and should coexist, and if anything - and I know you hate to hear this, I'm sorry, I'm sorry - it should be kept in mind when deciding to support the franchise by buying its products.
One final note is that like... I'm sorry if this comes off as pretentious but I seriously feel like people have NO idea what media with well written female characters look like, because for people to even question bsd being sexist is just insane to me (in the way: do we really need to to talk about it, isn't it obvious like ten seconds in the show??). And this is probably the least good place to advertise things, but please do yourself a favor and read The Promised Neverland and learn what well written female characters read like.
Oml the whole portion about the women characters always being centered around a man and pedophilia just being excused YES. YES. AND YES!!! this is exactly why the recent Kyouka situation disturbs me so much. I see so many posts coming out about how it's normal for a young girl to have a crush on an older guy and like yeah but WHY IS IT THAT IT'S PRACTICALLY EVERY. SINGLE. FEMALE IN BSD??? ESPECIALLY the little girls.
Mori has his obsession with little girl Yosano and Elise, Lucy has a crush on Atsushi, Higuchi is obsessed with Akutagawa, Aya, little girl tried to ask Kunikida out, Teruko is obsessed with an older man while in the body of a child, Naomi is the school girl troupe and is framed to be into her older brother figure (even if he isnt really), Gin isn't as bad but she did get a whole episode mostly dedicated to the man trying to ask her out, and now we have Kyouka repeating the troupe..little girl has onesided crush on older guy.
I could excuse it if it was just her and maybe one other but when it becomes a pattern of every single female character it's not "normal" anymore it's weird!
It's so disappointing too cause so many of the female characters have SOO much potential and I fear it'll never be recognized.
Gin is one of my favorite BSD characters I genuinely love the idea of her and Ryunosuke's dynamic I think there's so much potential there for BOTH of them to grow and develop especially concidering Gin is inspired by a really interesting story the real Ryunosuke Akutagawa wrote! (I could go on a whole tangent of the potential it opens up for her ughhh) Those two have the potential to play off each other so so well and we never see any of it! Not even Gin's reaction to her brother's death or a tinge of emotion when he was kidnapped. It drives me crazy.
I bring up Gin cause she's a favorite of mine (at least the potential of her based off what little information we do have on her) but so many other female characters in bsd have a lot of potential that I fear will never be acknowledged.
This was such an amazing and fun read from you two, although the topic is well, depressing.
I absolutely love bsd, and it's one of my favorite medias I've ever consumed, but those things really do bother me while reading (I'll be honest, I as much as I may love them, I also love complaining about the stories I consume to friends and family).
I often find it difficult to form opinion in most female characters in bsd because they barely have any screentime or development that isn't focused on another (male) character, especially Gin. I unfortunately can't find myself relating to people saying Gin or Higuchi (or any female character that doesn't have much screentime) is their favorite character, because all I know about Gin is that they're an assassin and Akutagawa's younger sibling, and that Higuchi is never taken seriously on ber job and that she's obsessed with Akutagawa for some reason, even though they have so much potential as characters.
I'd like to also add that not only these issues with little or at least at least younger girls pining on an older guy (or just an odd tension between them), and Mori's weird fixation with Elise exist, but it's oftentimes framed in a comedic or lighthearted light.
The Tanizaki siblings' relationship being brushed off as them just "being weird" and that you're supposed to "just ignore them". Even though they weren't actually siblings, Naomi still calls Jun'ichiro her older brother and acts inappropriately towards him in public (which visibly makes not only everyone around them uncomfortable, but Jun'ichiro too), not to mention the fact that she's clearly supposed to be a school girl and is sexualized by Asagiri.
The weird romantic tension between Atsushi and Kyouka in the early chapters and now returning in the lastest chapter (from the top of my head: Atsushi mentioning dating hotspots and Kyouka blushing, then Atsushi getting flustered; in the Guild arc, one of the characters (I don't remember which) called Kyouka Atsushi's girlfriend; and Kyouka saying to Atsushi, "....I'm in... with you..." or "...I think I'm in l-" depending in the translation).
Mori calling Elise his wife despite her looking and acting like a spoiled child (it is theorized that he isn't actually a pedophile, but that doesn't make the dialogue any better) and the fact that Elise used to be slightly older and more assistant-like and obedient before he met younger Yosano (and also him being weirdly possessive and controlling over her). And what does the narrative do to address this? Fukuzawa calls Mori a lolicon, and this part of his character is made to be comedic. (I'm not saying you can't have characters like this, I'm complaining about the fact that it's always framed in a comedic light rather than addressing those issues).
Aya crushing on Kunikida, and him rejecting her because she doesn't meet 30-something of his 50-something requirements for a love interest, and it just being a gag. I'd be more okay with it if just happened this one time, but it seems like every little girl introduced has a crush on guy way older than her.
Also, Teruko, who is not only in the body of a child but actually a child herself, being obsessed with her way older superior/boss Fukuchi. That part made me so uncomfortable, but unfortunately I don't have much to say about it because this is getting way too long.
I'd like to talk about much more about more female characters, but I'd have to do more research this would be way longer, so sorry about that.
Kyotag I'm afraid of posting my bsd OCs (that are women) because I ship them with characters that are frequently headcannoed (how do you spell this) as gay since I'm afraid of it coming across as like I'm erasing gay rep when I'm queer myself

Cringe is dead! Create whatever you want! Fortunately-unfortunately, there's always going to be people who won't like the things you do, indipendently from what those are; it's impossible to create something that appeals everyone (which is a good thing too! It means everyone has tastes that are personal and different and varied!). So taking that in, the only thing left to do is create what makes *you* happy! I say the rule of thumb here is, âif you're having fun, then you're doing goodâ!
I don't even know how to address the gay headcanon issue... None of those characters are canonly gay. Fandom is supposed to be about fun / being creative is good for you. Do whatever you want ŕ´Śŕľŕ´Śŕ´ż(Ëľ â˘â á´ < Ëľ ) â§
Erasing gay rep???? ROTFLLFLFLLFLFL You've got to be kidding me. I'm not disparaging anon, but if anyone out there truly believes that someone's private imagination of characters as gay counts as those characters being gay rep....you got issues.
Headcanons are not authoritative. CANON is not authoritative, so headcanons are so far below it as to be irrelevant.
If anyone out there is suffering and believes that some popular headcanon is cockblocking their story or art or whatever - I want you do go out there and post your stuff loudly. Yell it from the rooftops. You'll be making fandom a safer place.
Whereever you see folks stating that headcanons are authoritative, I want you to go and burst that bubble with TNT. Post things they don't like and be obnoxious about it.
Everyone (to include me) has characterizations and headcanons they prefer, and things that rub them the wrong way. I could write whole theses on how I think characters should and should not be depicted. But unless you approach said things the right way, you come off as an ass, and at the end of the day, these are dolls we can play with any way we want and it doesn't have to make sense.
The heart of this is censorship, and censorship has no place in fandom. Fans do not get to dictate or pressure how other fans interact with media.
So just fake confidence if you need to and post those OCs!
