For the Asuka prefect AU I imagine Asuka would be cagey and secretive about his life as an Asuka wold do. Even though he is desperate to get back to Tomaro. He never actually confesses he even HAS a brother till book 6.
And that’s only because Vil notices how conflicted Asuka is acting while they are descending Tarturas. Asuka admits that if he were in Idia’s situation he would do the same.
Pomfeore is shocked because “YOU HAVE A LITTLE BROTHER” and Asuka mentions that he had to raise him by himself and that is why he dropped out of school.
The rest of the cast learn this at the after party in book 6 Idia makes a comment like “Ortho is the coolest little brother in the universe” and Asuka will not stand for it.
So an argument brakes out on who’s little brother is cooler while everyone is realizing that Asuka is not only a big brother but one with a massive brother complex.

I actually had another idea for a Twisted Wonderland x Beat brake AU.
It’s actually a fan insert Yuusona where the prefect of Ramshackle is Asuka.
Specifically after Asuka gets cold hearted he wakes up in a coffin surrounded by cooked figures spouting nonsense about magic. The just thinks “ok ether I’m dead or I’ve got back my e-pulse and am being sacrificed to a cult” Ethereal way his top priority getting back to his brother.
This comes a bit from the twisted wonderland theory that the player is already dead and is a ghost wandering wonderland.
But it mostly comes from me wanting to see Asuka and Idia gush about how much they love their brothers.
Alongside his narcolepsy tomoro goes into trances more the longer they stay in twisted wonderland. Whatever on kano Island knows tomoro is gone and wants him back. This is one of the reasons the bb gang needs to get back home.
On the bright side, after chapters, the people they trust to look after tomoro grows so they don't have to worry about him being alone. (Though it does make it difficult to work in the monstro lounge)
I’m not really combining the AUs to this extent it I more ment some traits. I kinda prefer not to mix AUs to much because it over complicates storytelling. Loving this idea though might mix it into Light crest Au.
Trust is a strong word with GD is sure they won’t harm Tmaro. But only because they know if they do all of Rsmshakle including Kyo the golden would come after them.
Riddle: I’m amazed you can handle Floyd’s “interest” in you with such grace.
Tomaro: eh, Floyd is definitely not someone I trust to have good intentions, especially when he’s bord. But I’ve gotten pretty good at dealing with the chaotic types.
Riddle: what do you-
Gekkomon: TOMARO!! Silver gave me a sword! I’m gonna try that Toper Dairy thing on the hedges!!
Tomaro: It’s “Topiary” and don’t go slashing other people’s plants!
Riddle: ah, I see!
Tomaro: Ya I’m actually more nervous when Jade comes by. That dude is actually worse, he’s just better at hiding it.
Riddle: fair enough …
Tomaro: …
Riddle: you know I’m going to punish Gekkomon now right?
Tomaro: Honestly, I’m amazed you remain as calm as long as you did until now.
In light crest au, do you think tomoro has some sort of reaction when Souji uses the white core?
Oh most definitely. I’m basing it off of a theory I have on the wight core.
I noticed the black energy surrounding the core looks a lot like black e-pulse
It’s even more present here when used. So I asked myself who does the black emotion charging the core belong too
If the white core came from Kano island then it could be the combined e-pulse of all the Digimon and humans lost in the incident.
This theory gifts Light Crest Tomaro perfectly. I mention Tomaro has visions of those people and Digimon being trapped somewhere. That place now being the white core.
When he gets close to Souji and he uses the white core, Tomaro collapse clutching his head. Because he is hearing the screams and cries of the emotion in the white core.

Jade: do any of you have experience rowing a boat?
Makoto: not really, we always used a motor boat to get to our base.
Hotaruko: Tactics used row boats for training so I have plenty of experience.
Riddle: So only Hotaruko will be on the water I assume?
Tomaro: I know how row a boat
Malleus: really? I assumed since you and Makoto are part of the same group you have only used a motor boat as well.
Tomaro: Ya that’s how it is with Glowing Dawn, but when my brother and I moved into our apartment we couldn’t afford a motor boat. But my brother worried about me going out since I was just a 10 year old. So he somehow got his hands on a row boat, and he taught me how to row so I could leave our house on our own.
Riddle: I see- wait why would you need to learn to row a boat to leave the house.
Tomaro: I told you, I was ten. Asuka worried about me walking the floating crates used as pathways. A boat is just safer for navigating flooded zones.
Everyone: FLOODED!!!
Hotaruko: oh I knew Glowing Dawn’s base is in the flood debris. But I had no idea you lived there as well. Must have been quite the trek to school, since those areas are more compact than the open water are glowing Dawn is in.
Tomaro: Ya, for a couple years, I took the boat every morning to get to school. I also used it to carry groceries since it was safer.
Jade: ☺️ oh my, then you must be quite experienced then. How interesting you simply must tell me more when you have the chance.
Riddle: YOU STAY FAR AWAY. YOU ARE NOT TMARO FOR ENTERTAINMENT.
So we know that the NRC cast know that the Ramshackle has bad trauma, do they get to know the specifics?
Like the whole military thing of T7 and rest of the things that GD go through.
Like I said GD, especially Reina, does not have a good grasp of what is and isn’t trauma.
And every now and again the Tactics existences will show up.
As for specific moments and revels I have a few. Think I need to make more posts to explain everything.
The military thing mostly gets revealed in book 5 with Raito dealing with his own trauma with Niato.
He overlaps his views on to Vil and gets the idea that Epel is enduring similar treatment to what he was put through. During the beach scene he learns that’s not the case, and all of Epels “beatings” were on equal footing.
Since he’s on the venting beach he and Monodramon let out all their pent up frustration, and just shout everything.
The military training
The colosseum
The being tied to a chair to be beaten
Needless to say Duce and Epel are horrified and when they get back the immediately express how grateful they are to have them as superiors. Everyone is confused and concerned.
Another revelation scene is after the Overblot battle, when Male-chans identity is revealed; and Tomaro, Gekkomon, Raito, and Monodramon’s reaction is just “Ya ok”
Malleus: you are not afraid of me? Even knowing my true identity?
Tomaro: Malle-Chan I’m friends with Raito. And he used to work for an organization at sold people and Digimon or put them in coliseum death matches. And his old boss fed his whole organization to his Digimon to try and kill my family with a giant sentient pyramid.
Now he works for the guy who nearly killed me in by firey explosion.
You being a scary powerful dragon will only scare me if you have done worse than that.
Everyone: 😳 …
Duce: R-Raito are you a war criminal
Monodramon: na, both guys were Five stars, top cleaners who work directly for our world government. We don’t have records.
Ace:WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR WORLD
Tomaro: Where do do I even start
And don’t get me started on dream ideas. I’m kinda Trying to see if I can fit in a Tomaro Dream because can you imagine everyone’s reaction to Tomaro’s apartment. Sebeck and Silver would be impressed on Tomaro jumping on floating debris everyday just to get to school.
Oh to add to the pop music thing, Cater has learned to keep a facade since he is used to him leaving people due to his father's job shifting almost constantly. So he tries to not connect with others but he also wants to connect so he keeps a positive facade and has the Magicam so that he can satisfy this need to connect.
I am pretty sure that Cater cares a lot about Heartslabyul after book 1.
So far I believe Trey, Lilia and Vil know that he is faking his personality.
Thank you for feeding my ideas!!
This song definitely fits Cater. And Tomaro definitely fits in with the pop music club boys. He just copes with his issues in the other direction.
Tomaro is an emotional and empathetic person. We can see it in Gekkomon’s personality, and in their ability to reed people’s feelings.
Tomaro has been rejected by others for his strong emotions and seen those he loves hurt by them. So he chose to ignore his desire for connection.
So I feel like Gekkomon and Tomaro could pick up that Cater’s beat doesn’t match what he shows.
Cater himself might feel nervous with the pair being able to read him well. But when he learns about Tomaro’s life he tries to get get the grumpy boy out of his shell.
Tomaro and Gekkomon are definitely doted on by the Pop music club as the Youngest. I’m pretty sure they view Tomaro as a wet sloping cat they picked up.

So… I thought of something… morbid (I am prepared to be called evil)
Tomaro is having a hard time adjusting to the upbeat, positive, extroverts in the pop music club. Gekkomon fits in pretty easily, so he just slinks in the corner and starts humming a certain song Asuka introduced him to. One he sings when needs something to remember to accept what is.
Lilia hears him and is most curious on the song. Tomaro is nervous because the he doesn’t think the lyrics would resonate with the group being a bit dark. But surprisingly when Tomaro shows them the sheet music he wrote (because I have a Head canon that Tomaro can memorize music after ether a couple or one listen to it) Cater, Kalim, and Lilia actually understand and love the song saying “I can completely understand this feeling” and now they want to play it.
Tomaro starts to feel more like he fits in with the Pop-music club after that. He still thinks they could use a bit more coordination though.
(Read here to see why I’m evil)
THIS IS THE SONG BY THE WAY
Yes I was listening to this song about accepting death and immediately thought of the pop music club’s chipper extroverts.
AND CAN YOU BLAME ME
For Tomaro like I said this is a song he listens to when he feels the need to go with the flow and live in the moment. He knows good things can be snatched away in an instant.
Lilia is the same he’s an old general who has lost his loved ones in a war. He’s trying to enjoy youthful experiences because he knows theirs so much time he has left.
It has been stated to me Kalim parties precisely because he is unsure when he would be killed.
And Cater is Cater (sorry im not that familiar with the Hyarsabul issues, I’m an Ignihyde and Diasomia fan) who knows what he is hiding.
Im just saying an upbeat song about smiling at death seems to fit these boys.
Ok
These are my thoughts about Genjo's motivations right now, sort of like a wannabe indigo child/starseed. Like I really, really love the idea of him having fucked up e-pulse like Tomoro bc I do not want this kid to be unique in this thing that reads disability allegory to me, nor do I want it to make him special or the Rudolf of the cleaners
But, there is something to say about a disabled person who does desperately want their disability to make them special or more important than the people around them and how fucked up that is
I'm imagining Genjo was a social outcast like Tomoro only instead of eventually finding his place, he continued down the path of isolation, and eventually decided he was better than humanity for the things that made him an outcast. And in some ways he was validated, bc once Gokuwmon was around he found he could manipulate digimon in ways no one else could.
He does not consider himself human. He considers himself a statue. He considers himself the Buddha. He considers himself an enlightened being from another planet or something. Humans and digimon are the same to him in that they're ants who think their lives are important, but in reality they are his tools. Even the other five stars are merely ants to him.
Once he finally discovered Tomoro and his e-pulse he was too far gone down the path of radicalism. Maybe there is a timeline where he could have found solace and even community, but there's no chance now. His goal is to make Tomoro a God like himself. It's lonely at the top. In a twisted way, he tells himself that he loves Tomoro, that harming him for his own good, so he can reach his true potential.
As such, I'm totally expecting a scene where Genjo monologues about how he and Tomoro are *better* then those cretins, that they're the next step of human evolution, that he should join him. And he may be threatening to feed the sapotama he got from the Hyemon to Gokuwmon as he does so, to make sure Tomoro makes the right decision.
And this makes more wonder- what other strings is Genjo pulling? Has he been trying to get Tomoro to break down and create Gekkomon all this time? *Someone* moved Asuka's body out of the water so he wouldn't drown. Was- was it even Asuka who reached out to Kyo?
We know- or at least it's heavily implied- that Genjo is a hacker. He could have made a phony message asking him to take Tomoro in. And he probably has an interest in Kyo. I mean, at the very least, the other five stars compare the two of them, an unfavorably, too. To a God, being second banana to some wunderkind five years younger than him must piss him off.
So maybe Tomoro was supposed to be the nuke that would blow the former gold star up. Only what Genjo can't measure/predict is the power of human connection and family and love. Kyo was not supposed to help Tomoro become more grounded.
So kidnapping him serves two purposes: get Kyo and Klay fighting with one another, and also isolate Genjo's special little boy from Kyo
Not sure where this new #Rivalry between Tomoro and Raito is going to go but it would be hilarious if it was entirely one sided.
Like Tomoro being out here, trying to get his brother's e-pulse back, trying to get through his day as a Cleaner, dealing with monster of the week shenanigans on a breakfast consisting of half a piece of toast. All while dealing with the digimon that is Gekkomon. And then this fucking loser pops in, trying to start a fight only for Tomoro to be like "uh no get lost loser. I got enough to deal with"
Raito getting into one sided grudge matches with a 15 year old is pure loser behavior and I hope Tomoro doesn't give Raito one iota of a fuck.

I finished season 1 of Vrains and it was cool but I thought it needed about 2 billion more secret identity shenanigans
extended thoughts below
So I went into a deep dive in my last two posts (1, 2) about all the problems I had with Vrains, and you'd think I didn't enjoy it, but in fact as I was watching, there was a separate, parallel version of Vrains that was playing in my head, a Yugioh I think we were robbed of and which fixes every problem I had with the first season, and that is Secret Identities AU.
Yusaku needs FRIENDS
This is YUGIOH.
This dynamic is everything I wanted from Vrains. Yusaku developing unexpected fondness for these bozos who think he needs a defense squad. I want Miraculous Ladybug levels of secret identity shenanigans. I want Yusaku slapping his duel disk every time Ai tries to blow their cover.
This AU sprung forth from the scene in the duel club where he shows Naoki his decoy deck. Having Yusaku passing as a bad duelist is 1) so funny, but 2) Yusaku needing to maintain his low profile is a useful contrivance for other characters to get more duels, and 3) I think it would be a really fun one-off episode where Yusaku has to duel using his bad deck. When he wins, Naoki is so proud he cries.
Having Yusaku actually have to interact with the other characters in the real world opens up Greek play levels of dramatic irony. The crux of a secret identity story is that every single interaction builds up anticipation, because you the viewer know that the other party is being deceived, and that the tension will snap when the secret is revealed.
I have zero anticipation about Playmaker's identity being revealed, because Aoi would be like "oh.... I guess he goes to my school" and Go would be like "have I seen that guy before?" But SIAU Playmaker? My guy is making friends just so he can betray them. Insane.
Go needs A ROLE IN THE STORY.
I said in my first post that Go isn't a rival or a best friend character. SIAU fixes this by making him both simultaneously.
Having him be the ace of the duel club is a natural replacement for his whole hero of the orphans schtick, while placing him directly the circle of relevance with the other characters. Instead of being disgruntled that the orphans suddenly like Playmaker more than him, he's disgruntled that Naoki and the duel club mooks are fawning over Playmaker -- which is actually just Naoki's character anyway.
I would kill for a big dramatic moment where Go learns that Playmaker and Yusaku are the same person, and even though Go feels betrayed that Yusaku has been deceiving him, he stands by Yusaku anyway because they're friends.
With a secret identity story, every conversation is working on multiple levels because each character is working with asymmetric information. You get these fascinating, layered scenes of two characters talking past each other because they cannot give up their secret.
Which would go especially hard with Go and Yusaku, because Go has legitimate criticisms of Playmaker in canon and Yusaku has legitimate reasoning behind the things he does, and as Go Onizuka and Playmaker they could never come to an understanding on them, but as Go and Yusaku, two friends in duel club, that door becomes open to them.
Aoi needs WRITING THAT ISN'T A TRAINWRECK
I made a whole post on this. Basically every problem would be solved if Akira doesn't know that she's Blue Angel. There's no reason for her to lose grotesquely against Yusaku, or have her basic autonomy called into question constantly.
Having her actively deceive her brother is delicious. Like I said in my last post, it's so obvious how Akira's overprotectiveness has taken its toll on Aoi, and pushed her into developing this other persona, Blue Angel. I want this absolutely dysfunctional sibling relationship so badly. The Blue Angel vs. Zaizen duel would make me lose my mind.
And a secret identities setting works so well with the potential themes of VRAINS as a stand-in for the internet and Blue Angel as an idol. Give me that Perfect Blue Satoshi Kon good stuff. Give me those themes about identity, and the different lives we live, outward and inward, online and offline.
This also helps Akira's character, because I think he would be much more interesting and relevantly positioned in the story if he stayed a SOL Technologies baddie. SOL Technologies has very little presence in season 1 despite being critical to the story. After Zaizen is replaced by an irrelevant clown, they don't do anything but send out mook AIs to get destroyed. By having a three-way standoff between Yusaku's squad, the Knights of Hanoi, and SOL Technologies, both Hanoi and SOL Technologies become more compelling. They've both got all the reason in the world to want to take down the other. Zaizen vs. Revolver or Spectre? That's good shit.
And don't get me started on how I would turn Revolver into a Secret Identities character.
