My baby hobbit feet!!
My new Birkenstocks arrived yesterday and I couldn't be more thrilled. Going to take some working-in, but to not be in pain is a godsend.
So fucking annoyed with myself...
I'm not new. I've had houseplants much longer than pandemic band wagoners
I have some really sought-after, high value plants - one being my pink princess philodendron
I bought it before anyone gave a fuck...
I don't even really like it that much, but now I baby it due to its value.
2+ years I had it before it even started putting out leaves - and a few weeks ago, it put out its first big pink variegation, with another on its heels...
Yesterday I noticed the new leaf was stuck.
Moved it under the humidifier.
Today I noticed it was pulling free, but still stuck at just the tip - so even though I fucking know better, I started poking at it.
And I pulled
And prodded
And pried
And pulled some more
AND DIDN'T THE FUCKING LEAF BREAK RIGHT OFF
...I'm sooooo fucking angry with myself.
My only reprieve will be if my clumsiness results in branching (then I'll act like it was an action of intent... riiiiiiight)
I should just chop the fucker up and prop it.

The damage...
I barely survived. The 12 rounds was tough. I honestly didn't expect to finish, and there are definitely times in which that would have been the smart, reasonable, mature, responsible choice...
But no
Not me
By the end, I was no longer using weights, and what should have been a snatch, a squat and a swing looked more like a flailing, seizing mess - every cuss word and sex noise I could muster braying forth from my damaged and faltering being

Was
Messy
And for that, I will now pay greatly with a few days of limited mobility, walking like "I'm new", and ALL THE PAIN KILLERS.... Like, all of them
I'm not going to let this stop me, though.
This is just a sign that I'm on the right track - that I'm pushing against the grain and forcing my comfort zone to release me from its grip.
Today I will move
I will foam roll, I will stretch, I will row, I will get the blood flowing through my sore and broken body.
I refuse to let the chaos of the world continue to weaken my spirit.
Lockdown? Fuck you.
I will heal. I will thrive. I will do it all over again.
Goal 2 update...
Well we're back in lockdown, which means, I'm stuck back at home with nothing but homework and working out to keep me busy...
And the girls, obviously, but more needs to get done than zoomies and snuggles all day (although that does sound pretty good)
So the Thursday before Easter, my Mum and I got our first vax...for that reason, I took a few days to rest. I did feel like crap for the 3 days post-jab, which was to be expected, and then the grief of yet again being locked up for an indeterminate period of time, I took another few days...
...I wouldn't say I'm "off track" as much as I've become complacent so the possibility of going that direction is very real.
My body hates me. I need to stop sitting before it's all I'm left with.
Yesterday I printed out some old circuits from my last coach. Not like I'm going to be doing any shows, but it was the last time I remember loving training.
Going to start adding a proper dynamic warm-up and a WOD to my daily rowing (which looks more like I'll be alternating rowing for the running in the WOD most days).
Additionally, I'm going to look into purchasing a proper plyo box and a pull-up/dip station for my living room.
Hopefully going to transform my main floor over the next year. Since most of my larger goals are gone (thanks Covid), it's time to assess and adapt: set goals for my living space that are realistic, even if I'm out of work for an extended period of time.
Hoping to get today's workout in before DOMS becomes a real thing for my day.
