Cas, nodding but not looking up from the spider he'd stopped to examine: I do have a tendancy to wander off. I have many and varied interests. It's very charming.
Eileen, tuning into the conversation and letting go of Sam's hands briefly to sign along with verbal speech: what are you saying?
Sam: Dean's calling me a girl for holding hands.
Eileen: hm. At least you're a cute girl.
She takes Sam's hand again and kisses it like a knight before swinging it casually between them, and Sam blushes so hard and smiles so big his face hurts 💕
Cas should get some puppy play too. As a treat. A season 10 where he and Dean spend more time together and build the dynamic, so all of Cas’s angel battalion have to endure Dean occasionally coming over to their base with a huge grin and going "hey Cas. Speak." And Cas–completely shameless and serious–goes "woof. Hello. Am I a good puppy." "Yeah man :) *head pats that Cas leans into*". In front of all of them.
They all hate it but Cas doesn't give a shit and he's in charge and Dean likes making them uncomfortable because he doesn't like that they a) didn't rebel the first time around with Cas (and Anna!) to stop the Apocalypse and b) they're all rude to him for taking their beloved leader away from them and for being human. And also he likes the mild exhibitionism of demonstrating his "control" over Cas.
Cas has a crate in his office and a leash hanging on a hook next to it and he keeps just shoving his tail plugs into a random desk drawer after cleaning them so frequently when he's trying to find a particular document he'll thoughtlessly dump them on the desk in front of the angel who's trying to have a meeting with him.
For Cas having permission to be a dog means having permission to be a dog that bites. That makes mistakes and is firmly corrected and still treated with affection. He lets out the aggression he's been bottling up from trying to play the leadership role via physical challenges from Dean, and then gets snuggles for it 😊.
