f!reader, wife!reader (eventually), Norrington pov (third person but with second (you/yours) used for the reader character), arranged marriage, (very slow) slow burn, set post-CotBP, historical views of marriage and gender, canon-typical danger and violence
I believe James is canonically in his mid to late 20s during the events of Curse of the Black Pearl, so that's the age I'm working with for this story, which takes place not long after the events of that film. the reader character is also in her mid 20s

I believe James Norrington was the first character I ever read proper fanfiction for (years ago now), but this is my first time writing fic for him!
frankly, the idea for this fic came from the "bedtime stories" I concoct in my head as I fall asleep lmao, but when I decided to turn it into a longer-form story, I did plot it out a bit more
as I've mentioned above, this story is still a work in progress, and I won't have a regular update schedule, it will just be when I finish a new chapter. typically I wait to post longer fics until they're all done, but thanks to some lovely folks who showed interest in the story, I'm going to go ahead and post what I have! ☺️
