BALIDAN-PARMO-DHARMA (बलिदान परम धर्म)
ranveer singh in DHURANDHAR and DHURANDHAR the revenge, dir: aditya dhar
Fantastic Four: First Steps was an odd movie for me, good but odd.
It feels more like a summarised edit of the important scenes compiled for a ceo rather than a movie. There is absolutely no depth at all, character wise or emotional or relationship wise, the whole team has a communication problem within themselves and with the rest of the world who depend on then to save them, and the audience.
Who wrote the dialogues, especially for the speech Reed gives after returning to earth while everyone is eagerly and anxiously waiting to hear their fate, Reed just says that "Galactus asked for our child and so we said no, obviously, we obviously said no" and he leaves it at that, he doesn't communicate at all, doesn't provide any reassurance that he will work on finding another way, none, not a word and then people are left to assume the fantastic four just sealed their death.
And in some scenes, Sue does act like she only cares about her child, there is no indication on her face or words that she cares about the rest of the world and the other millions of children and babies that will die and she's acting like everything is sunshine and rainbows and complaining about sleep and attempting to joke or lighthearted banter about motherhood, (she should get to yes but that's the only thing she does for a while, she doesn't express concern where she should when it's needed.)
I'm not sure if it's the writing and direction or Vanessa Kirby's acting but it's bad, it makes Sue seem like she doesn't care about anything else as long as she doesn't have to give up her baby, she shouldn't have to, yes, but she never communicates the opposite until the moment she brings Franklin out to the crowd gathered around the Baxter building and lectures on how they should fight for something bigger than themselves and the whole speech is an attempt at guilttripping until she adds that last line as a footnote saying "and I will not give up my world for my child," that should've been the start of the speech, that should've been communicated when they first returned to earth, and there would have been no need for this scene at all, the people would have never questioned them had they just communicated.
The whole Fantastic Four family doesn't feel like one, they don't even feel like colleagues to me. Everyone's emotion is devoid, Vanessa's tone and body language and expression ruin any proof that she cares about the world in a lot of scenes and comes across as flippant.
Johnny feels so empty, so bland, so characterless (not in a demeaning way but in an empty devoid way) he's blank, an empty vessel that is so far removed from who he is and is only allowed to exist in glimpses of his personality, if we can call it that.
Pedro shows the most emotion out of all of them and even he falls so far short and everything feels obligatory, not in oh I don't wanna be here way but in a someone put them there and they're here now and that's it way
It's so disconnected, there is a banter scene between Johnny and Ben but it is forced and again, devoid, it's not natural, they have no rhythm, no playing off of each other but it clearly comes across as something the actors were told to do, there is no personality for any of them, there is no personal anything, there's no personal scenes where they're alone and just thinking or emoting and conveying things, where they feel and we feel with them.
Johnny listening Shalla's transmissions alone and deciphering them was him doing an action, determined to save his family and everyone yes, wanting to be heard and caring, yes but that is either told straight up in dialogue or inferred afterwards, not felt.
Everyone is always doing something, only Ben had that moment bringing cookies where he felt like an actual person but only in that scene and then when he's telling Reed that he can't be guilty forever but even that scene is only half as good but Pedro and him balance it out well between them. There was actual warmth in both those scenes.
The scene of Reed and Sue in bed doesn't fell romantic at all to me, not that bad but still not good, not enough, it was giving they don't fully know each other yet, but they do, they're married.
The scenes of Johnny talking to Sue and telling her about his findings, Sue's interactions with him fall so short in the emotional scale, especially for the given situation. It seems more like a boss hearing that maybe her employee had a breakthrough rather than a sister reacting to her younger brother finding out about a world ending danger that's especially coming for her son.
The way they've written Sue to be strong is undercut by them completely removing any scene of her showing any emotion that's required for the situation, she can be calm and collected and strong, and she is but she looks and acts too stoic and robotic other than the few scenes when and only when it's Franklin in the stakes does she show any emotion, at times she seems too inconvenienced and annoyed that the world won't just agree to die because she won't give up Franklin for them, and all that is because they never communicate, not to the people, not properly wthin the group and most definitely not to the audience, watching the film felt like a group of people trying to decide our fate without talking to us and making us watch from the outside as they go about it, if that's what they were going for, making us know what the people in the film felt, then they succeeded.
I prefer the 2005 and 2007 ones and Jessica Alba showed more emotion talking about her zit on her wedding day than I felt in this entire film. Jessica and Chris' Sue and Johnny felt like they had an actual relationship. So did the entire group. Those had a heart and soul. First Steps feel like just the outside skin and skeleton instead.
But, I loved Herbie, and I really liked it being Ben who first held Franklin, I liked seeing Ben and Johnny's interactions with baby Franklin.

How to spot signs and symptoms of Breast Cancer
Reblog to literally save a life
whish they told us this in school, all they did was say “feel for lumps, you will know when you feel it”
This is important, even if it doesn’t work with your blog theme REBLOG IT!!!!
Women need to know this, not all of us have ever been told what we need to look out for!
yeah reblogging especially for my transmasc fellows who (like me) might be real uncomfortable with their chests and not know what to watch out for because we try to avoid this kind of thing (just me? okay)
I read all the health pamphlets as a child.
“Look for lumps,” they said, “watch out for unusual lumps and discharge.”
They did NOT say, “By the way, some areolas have little bumps on them. And some get pimple-ish things around the edges. Or on the nipples. These are not the lumps we are talking about, and that is not the discharge we are talking about.”
I spent years worrying about whether I had breast cancer. (I got exams, every year or two, and those were always fine and I stopped worrying. Mostly. But then a new tiny bump would show up on the edges and I would wonder IS THIS IT? …but not ask to see a doctor because 14-year-old girls worry about everything, all the time, and six months ago the doctor poked at my breasts and didn’t say anything alarming, so this is… probably fine? Like last time?)
I had a slightly more present and caring doctor tell me what I need to be looking for specifically are lumps that feel like peas or grains of rice.
That distinction cleared so much up for me, like, breast tissue is all lumps and bumps normally (which is what mamories feel like to me). What the hell do they mean by lumps????
Now I know.
BUCKY BARNES Doomsday
LOVE IN THE CLOUDS 入青云 (2025) dir. Peng Xuejun, Zhi Zhu — What matters is that I had my master who saved and guided me. I have Buxiu who respects me. I have Granny Xun who cares for me. And then there's also you.
Now back to the show, and SPOILERS...
This is an unedited unrefined rant and it's 3am so sorry for it. Also again, these are my OPINIONS, don't come at me, just opinions.
I finished season 8 and WTF??
Bobby??? I wasn't expecting him to be actually taken out like yeah I saw him checking his airtube but I thought it'll be fine and they'll get another dose of cure somehow, maybe from chim or that mouse that Chimney took as a pet for Jeeyun?? Wasn't the army trying to at least get the cure to the regular version of the virus? Ugh. God it hurt to watch it, and to see Buck be soo broken and cry like that, and Athena, damn this lady is STRONG but I really wished that she let people care for her instead of shutting them out. She was finally happy and God they pulled the rug from under her feet. She deserves better.
And then there's this Hen's birthday episode where she advices this guy Archie and yes it was good advice and I hate the writers for writing it well and then screwing it up again at the end cause WTF was the necessity to retract it and make Hen say that Archie was invisible to her too and that advice was actually for her? Archie says that it was good advice, cause it was, and he'd been pushed to the edge and took the decision and yeah he should go to prison but they could have EASILY made hen's last words in the bus to him before he gives up the knife be about now he's not invisible anymore and that he should take accountability and responsibility for himself and his actions and then work on himself after he gets released or something along those lines but nooo they just had to reiterate that he is invisible, he does not matter, and what even was that dialogue you will come with me cause it's my birthday from Hen?? Way to make it about herself. They could have had Hen's arc be the same and still made her give good advice this time actually for him and then having the balloon scenes and stuff but ugh they just had to make Hen the unfortunate victim who everyone forgot about even when the guy is literally standing right in front of her, like it was some competition, they could have used this moment to highlight how she was overlooked on her birthday and how that hurts and still acknowledge that Archie had it worse than Hen in that moment cause being fired, cheated on, getting stuck in painful places and having to get rescued twice and getting his car towed with his things while he's in it and falling out all in the same day enough to snap and board a bus with a knife but he didn't intend to hurt anyone, even the guy getting stabbed was because the driver was distracted abd the cops laid that tire puncturing thing and the bus jerked and the guy fell into the knife archie was holding and somehow the writers couldn't acknowledge that he had it much worse than Hen, because when it comes to her she's always the victim to the writers, she is the only victim, they have to make everything about her and only her.
They can acknowledge that she's suffering and going through stuff and deserved better treatment without dismissing and disregarding others, it's not a competition, this time Archie, previously Karen, when she had just lost her embryos, if they are only going to be dismissive why even set it up the way they did only to derail it at the end? the writers really have some obsession with dismissing everyone else's pain and suffering when it comes to Hen and idk why.
Unrelated to the previous point, I like that they made chim captain, interim captain, Hen is an amazing candidate for it, and so was chim abd it was nice to see him finally being given that position. We've had Hen as captain before briefly, let's see what chim can do.
I didn't like it at all when Buck said he was applying for a transfer, I loved chim's speech and resolve on not letting the house break.
And Eddie, while him accusing Buck of making everything about himself was unnecessary and honestly I don't see it, (also I've resumed the show after several months so maybe I'm forgetting but it seemed unfounded to me) Buck was also just trying to cope and breaking and how is him trying to gauge their emotional grieving stability level or something making it about himself? I would have understood it if Eddie had said that before he moved back to Texas and Buck didn't like it, yeah Buck was justified and took his lease and Eddie was justified too but that would have been a better situation for that dialogue.
That scene about Eddie finding it out by a call in the middle of the night and crying alone and having to tell Christopher that Bobby was gone was really heartbreaking.
And God, leave poor Maddie alone, how much trauma will they put this poor woman through? First that abusive husband, then him coming back, then postpartum depression and I'm sure I'm forgetting so much more and now this Braeburn? Ugh God I feel so bad for her, and chim. But it was honestly a awful reminder of the painful reality to see how it very well could be misunderstood as her leaving again because of her history and how these things could be manipulated or just unsuspected that it might have been some other reason.
On a lighter note, I really could not take it seriously about the whole space Misson thing, I haven't watched ep 2 of s9 yet but I really hope they don't go full fast and furious with it 😭
Oh and I knew they were going to name the baby after bobby 🥺 I love seeing bucks relationship with both his niece and nephew 🥹 that scene of him talking to baby bobby was so bittersweet. I honestly love all the kids in the show and how they are friends and take care of each other, especially jee and mara asleep on the couch were so cute. And I'm excited to see where Tommy and Buck go.

you don't have to rewrite the show to make Shannon a poor helpless damsel in distress just to make Eddie look worse than he already is. he didn't force her to leave Chris, that was her choice. he didn't force her to ghost Chris for years, that was her choice. he didn't force her to not pay child support, that was her choice. she was a deadbeat ableist who abandoned her son without a word for years because his disability was too much for her. miss me with rewriting those canonical facts. hate Eddie for his trash ass behavior all day, I do too, but what we are not going to do is perpetuate the endless ableism of this fandom by sanctifying Shannon Diaz's deadbeat ass
I didn't rewrite anything, canon or otherwise. I'm simply reiterating the same facts. And I'm not trying to make Eddie seem worse than he is, I'm only pointing it out because it frustrates me.
Shannon WAS helpless and in extreme distress because of the situations Eddie created, anyone would be, newly postpartum, even without the child being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and mother's cancer relapsing, and the husband also just left right after the child was born because he wasn't ready to be a father, and left her to shoulder everything alone, and left again when the child was diagnosed with a disability, when he was supposed to be coming home, it wasn't Shannon who abandoned Christopher but Eddie.
And yes, he did absolutely force her to leave and leave Chris behind with him because of the situations he created by completely disregarding the fact that she also needs help, as a new mother, and Chris also needs his father and that her mother was dying but he was expecting her and telling her to stay and take care of Chris and him and not go at all, because in his eyes Shannon's duty was to be Chris mother and his wife and that was it, Shannon's mother didn't even exist to him, he never says a word about her when Shannon's asking to go help her. He cornered her with no other options but to leave.
What was the other option? Take Chris with her and be pulled apart between caring alone for her dying mother and her child and fail at both with no help? Because again if she had taken Chris with her, with how Eddie was acting at that time he would have just reenlisted because he did not want to be a father at the time, he only started being one after she left.
It was already hard on her even when Eddie was there, he wasn't Chris' father until she left Chris with him and he had no other choice, until that moment he didn't even want to soothe a crying baby Christopher, who was really the ableist here? The mother that took care of her child alone and went through the diagnosis and handled it alone or the husband and father who left not once but twice once before and once after the diagnosis of Christopher's Cerebral palsy and had to be told he shouldn't be a stranger to his own child and still refused? Who was the disability really being too much on? Eddie himself admits that he was ran away again by reenlisting once Chris was diagnosed, but somehow you ignored that.
The fact that Chris still has a mother and that she wasn't dead was a surprise reveal if i remember correctly, that clearly conveys what Eddie's attitude about their relationship and Shannon's access to her son was, there is no way that even if Shannon had called and it's not mentioned anywhere that she didn't, that Eddie would have let her actually talk to her son, even when she came in person he was gatekeeping her from seeing her own child but he had no problem having sex with her each time she comes to meet him hoping he'lllet her see their son, the child he ran away from and didn't even want to soothe until she left and he had no other choice but to be a father that he was so desparate to postpone by reenlisting. In Eddie's eyes, shannon only existed to be his wife and Chris' mother but because she left to be a daughter to a dying mother and that wasn't something she was allowed to be, he punishes her by withholding access to her child, classic manipulation.
About the child support (and I don't remember it being mentioned she didn't pay or didn't try to, it has been more than a year since I watched that arc) but you forget that she was actually caring for her mother dying from cancer, yes Christopher needed all the care and access to Healthcare and he had it, from his father and his paternal grandparents, he had access to it. While Shannon's mother's cancer also required hospital bills in the same country and Healthcare system I'm sure and again none of this is mentioned, as far as I remember.
And yes I will agree that Eddie makes up for it by being Christopher's father, and a good one at that, after Shannon left, but that was something he should've been doing from the beginning, and even before the diagnosis he should've been there to support his wife who just gave birth to his child but even that was too much to ask of him and Shannon is the deadbeat ableist here? Seriously? Eddie was the one who has been all of that until Shannon left and yes she was in distress. And no, I'm not trying to sanctify her or any other character here, and perpetuating ableism is something I will never do.
Alright I'm back again with the 911 rants cause this show just keeps on giving. It's been a while from my last rants and I had left the show on hold while waiting for new episodes and I picked it up and this rants was written then, like several months ago and I just wanted to post it here now that I'm going to resume watching again and as always, they're opinions, you're free to have your own, don't come at me.
I watched the (then) recent episodes and I'm even more mad cause the show? Brings a lookalike of Shannon, blonder, exact copy, same actress, while Eddie is dating a different girl, Marisol. He stumbles upon this lookalike, I forgot her name, Shannon 2.
Then he starts going to meet her, no lurks around watching her, and then meeting her, leading her on while acting like he's not flirting, not telling her the truth, not telling her he HAS A GIRLFRIEND, HE ACTIVELY HID THAT, said JUST ME AND MY SON WHEN SHE ASKED WHEN HE FIRST VISITED HER SHOP TO TALK TO HER, that's unfair to both her and Marisol, who's a sweetheart, likes and cares about Christopher.
Then when Shannon 2 asks how long are you gonna keep watching me and not kiss me and THEN he says no it's not like that like he wasn't on a literal row boat ride with her on a lake like a date, then tells her on another instance about Shannon, she's shocked, hurt, heartbroken cause she really likes him, he lied and led her on and used her for his own emotional neediness because suddenly he misses her so much while he treated her like trash when she was alive. And his justification is that he couldn't help himself, he just missed Shannon so much, this ass, shannon 2 leaves, but then comes back with her hair curled like Shannon to give him that closure cause this woman is a sweetheart and the show just HAS TO EXPLOIT BOTH SHANNON AND SHANNON 2, and what does he say talking to her as if she was Shannon for closure when she so graciously tells him to? You left! You left when I needed you, you came back and I needed you and then you left again like bitch she died, in an accident and he's still the victim.
He need her when she came back? Really? For what? Sex and nothing else, she was literally begging him to let her see their child, that she gave birth to, and raised on her own until he forced her to leave Christopher with him to go take care of her dying mother and he had the gall to use her and expected her to thank him for it but no he needed her oh of course he did, and how selfish of her to get hit by a vehicle and die, couldn't she have thought about what poor little Eddie wanted? Asshat.
and poor Shannon 2 is comforting him, and poor Marisol comes back with Christopher and sees Eddie hugging Shannon 2 and Christopher's even more hurt cause he calls mom? This poor baby, hus mother has been removed from his life by his father and this poor child just can't catch a break.
Then Eddie has to explain, I don't remember if he did, Chris didn't want to talk to him, Marisol's breakup wasn't even shown, just Eddie moping to Buck, cause of course, and Chris called his grandparents-Eddie's parents and wanted to leave to Texas with them, Eddie threw a tantrum, his parents talked-consoled some sense into him and took Chris to Texas then we spend the next episodes of him moping and missing his son and he talks to a pastor and then that pastor sees him on a shop and then says you have to stop punishing yourself and let yourself have joy cause of course Eddie is the victim here the show just cannot help itself. Like what is the writers problem with making Eddie even a tad bit likeable and having a smidgen of accountability? Do they just not know how to? But they have no problem making every female character have accountability and guilt for even things they didn't do or wasn't bad, they can write mature nuanced and even troubled relationships with genuine respect and love like Bobby and Athena and Maddie and Chimney but when it comes to Eddie all of that skill goes down the drain and now I'm genuinely scared to pick up the show and watch it cause I'm not sure what kinds of shit Eddie will put Buck through.
