i've been lowkey trying to write more, and this is a snippet of a random thing that occurred to me that may or may not ever get finished. basic gist is that the COI got ahold of Simon and kidnapped him from Erid somehow, they take him back to the blood moon for questioning before they're gonna throw him back in sub but Things Happen

in this context i'm not strictly referring to romantic relationships (they threw that aroace into outerspace) because that's limiting and doesn't leave room for nuanced relationships. okay? okay.

(also just as an aside but this is just how i feel about things, you can hc whatever you want, let's all be nice ^^)

Eva Stratt: I think the two of them were vastly on good terms and started weirdly blurring the lines of professionalism and casual friendship after awhile, to a point that the other members of the PHM team would comment on it and they'd be like 'what are you even talking about, we are Coworkers' but- Coworkers don't steal sips of coffee out of each others' cups when the other one isn't looking or lean on each other half-asleep during meetings. That behavior all stopped once Stratt decided he would be the one going on the mission, very abruptly, and Grace was left panicking and wondering if he'd done something wrong before she finally told him. It left him with a lot of confusing thoughts about her after he woke up from the coma and he never got the closure he needed.

Yáo Li-Jie: Grace absolutely looked up to Yao once they started working together, he admired the man's bravery and some small part of him wished that *he* could be that brave. Might've even regarded him in a fatherly sort of way, but Grace wouldn't admit that if you had a gun to his head.

Olesya Ilyukhina: Little sister energy! They were closer than anyone expected them to get and when Grace got bored and restless, Olesya would be there with vodka and a devious prank to pull on the others. No one but the two of them know how six chickens got onto the Vat, and Grace can't remember the incident anymore so the details died with her.

Martin Dubois and Annie Shapiro: They weren't particularly close, but Shapiro and Dubois separately invited Grace to join them in the broom closet on more than one occasion and he politely declined. They both teased him for how red his ears got and started saying dirty things around him just for that reaction. No harm done, but them constantly banging on any vaguely horizontal surface icked Grace out a little.
