I don't like tumblr I just use it because it seems the only sane place where the Cars fandom is alive. But EVERYONE here is so... serious? I don't know. I remember that one anon that said "Cars is one of those pieces of media that SHOULD NOT have a fandom" and some people took it seriously instead of as a joke (Because it was, it is a popular Twitter "ragebait" meme). Got into Cars thanks to a friend and as my usual I have to make the characters I like women. Why yes, Lightning is a bi trans woman y2k diva with deep insecurities who needs to be humbled, but grows and changes as a person, Why yes, Mater is a bi masc country hick, and her and Lightning kiss. Why yes, the main conflict of Cars 3 is accompanied by Lightning's insecurities as she isn't as young as before and isn't percieved by society as "attractive", and her attactiveness was a very important point in her promotion as a racer, so now she feels like it would be all lost. Why yes! Chick Hick is a deeply repressed lesbian with daddy issues, and Francesco Bernoulli is a femme lesbian and the two fuck, and Jackson Storm may or may not be Chick's daughter born from a pity fuck with Bruiser bc she wants to prove to herself she's not gay (spoiler, it's an epic fail, she's gay af)... I like to turn this kid's movie into a cheap soap opera, and yes all of these dumb thought are mainly conceived as them humanized, idk if some ppl will be pisssed about that.

I think I'm always going to be upset that a "popular majority" headcanon will always be loved and cherished while others with different hcs and views are seen as lesser.
