So before his departure Bill Haydon arranged a cheque for Jan to pay for the milk, a couple of hundred for the sailor boy to "shut him up".
The biggest unpaid bill was owed to Jim Prideaux. He settled it with his life.

Imagine that, instead of George, it was Jim that was tasked to hunt for the Mole.
This scene was actually just like how they first met, even though they might not be aware of it: In the midst of bustling crowd, and he saw him.
The feelings when I realized how very likely that the same scene could happen when, post-TGC, Harry went to clean Merlin's house and sort his personal belongings.

Can we please get a director’s cut with an alternative ending where Merlin survives the explosion, gets to play with his knife and appears in all the scenes where he’s supposed to?

It’s prime time for a Davos chapter
Remember that TWOW Alayne chapter that GRRM released, in his infinite mercy? He wanted us to know that Sansa was not a captive of Ramsay Bolton, but was instead at a tourney in The Eyrie. What we need right about now is a Davos POV chapter. It would provide excellent insight into what Rickon, Shaggy Dog and Osha are up to on Skagos.
I was doing a little bit of revisits of my old pairings recently and it suddenly occurred to me that how “Stavos” the Liu Che (The Emperor Wu of Han)/Wei Qing pairing is: The Emperor raised Wei Qing from a stableboy and illegitimate son of a lowly servant to one of the most prestigious noble men of the Empire, while Wei Qing repaid him with his loyalty and military talent by beating Xiongnu, Han’s archenemy, in several military campaigns.
And just like Davos, Wei Qing was kind, humble, loyal, a man who never forgot where he came from.
As for Liu Che…let’s say Stannis is much easier to get along with comparatively…
Despite his great achievements, Wei Qing was often looked down upon by many of his contemporaries because of his low-born background. In media adaptations and fanfics, he was often portrayed as harbouring very mixed feelings towards Liu Che. On one hand, he deeply loved him because the Emperor was the one that recognized his values and gave him the chance to realize them, not to mention making him top rank officer and a part of the royal family (they married each other’s sisters). On the other hand, he also feared him because of the Emperor’s…very unpredictable natures. Nevertheless, he committed to and was willing to die for his Emperor’s course.
Liu Che was a political genius and…a truely great Emperor in every sense. He could recognize and put the correct men into use, but simply did not know how to be good to anyone without making the affections political. He often got annoyed and angry when Wei Qing, a man he actually cared about, behaved too gingerly before him. But lamentably, it was beyond him to change the situation, as the relationship was never equal between them from the very beginning.
I see both pairings as kinda “士为知己者死" (A true gentleman is ready to die a loyal death for those who know the worth of him) type, which was why I got hooked on them so much.
Anyway, it seems like my tastes haven’t changed a lot these years…
Why there are so many people on twitter think Liu Che (Emperor Wu of Han, Han Wu Di, 刘彻,汉武帝) created exam? What sort of Chinese history are you guys learning?

This time, Cao Cao is played by Liu Bei (Yu Hewei). As a Cao Cao/Liu Bei shipper, I have to say that this alone makes me kinda want to watch the show even though the story looks so WTF…
so quite a lot of people expressed interest in a guide to lion dance! and since the lunar new year is coming up in a couple weeks, which means everyone’s exposure to lions is probably going to increase, i figured i’d go ahead and make it! right click + open in new tab to fullview, etc etc, i hope it’s helpful, although if you only take one thing away from this powerpoint, it’s this: lions are not dragons
disclaimer: i learned fut san style at an american university, and the senior members of the troupe were almost all from hong kong and taiwan, so most of my knowledge is drawn from what they taught me. lion dance varies widely depending on the style and the country of origin, and many schools do things differently! this is just an attempt to establish a baseline and give you a really basic intro to one of my favorite art forms. :)
