To actually stop procrastinating u need a simple method you can follow every day. The first step is knowing exactly what you have to do , so at the start of the week : keep a small notebook with you , every time a teacher mentions homework, an assignment, or anything you must do, write it down immediately this will save you from forgetting tasks later .
When you get home youβre obviously tired . But the biggest trap is touching your phone the minute you walk in cuz the second you lie on your bed, youβll start scrollingβ¦ and suddenly you βforgetβ about homework. So try something different: as youβre walking home, delete your social media apps if you know you have a lot of work it helps sm .
When you arrive, eat, relax a bit, but donβt touch your phone. Go do a little self-care routine instead. uβll feel better, lighter, and more ready to work.
Then sit at your desk, open that little notebook, and look at what you wrote. Start by organizing your tasks from easiest to hardest. Begin with the easy ones. Donβt overthink or drag them for hours , use that phase to build your focus. Set a two-hour timer and just get started reading, writing small things, finishing quick exercises. Finishing these small tasks gives you a little boost of motivation.
After you clear the easy stuff, take a short break. Drink some water, eat a fruit, stretch. Then come back and start the harder tasks. At this point, your brain is warmed up. Donβt listen to music when doing high-focus work It just distracts u. Maybe some very light lo-fi can help, but silence builds deeper focus.
For the hardest homework, I really recommend using the Pomodoro technique: 35 minutes of focus, short break, repeat. The first two days might feel forced, but after that youβll notice real results:
Youβll finish your schoolwork faster, without feeling stressed.
Coming home to study wonβt feel impossible anymore.
Youβll still have time to rest.
And most importantly, try to actually enjoy the vibe of studying. Light a candle, make a cup of coffee or tea, especially now that winter is coming create a warm atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable to take care of yourself but also get your work done !
