2026 #5 the ultimate self-improvement guide
Everything I'm sharing here is based on what genuinely helped me become the healthiest, happiest, and most realistic version of myself. This is about building habits, changing ur mindset, and slowly becoming the best version of who you already are. u don't have to follow every single tip everyone's journey is different, so take what resonates with you and leave what doesn't. Think of this guide as a roadmap I'll be writing more detailed blogs about each topic in the future , rn I wanted to put everything together in one place so u can clearly understand the foundation of my approach and have a starting point for your own journey.
1 forgive the old u : the moment most people step into this whole "becoming a better version of yourself" journey, they drag the old them right along with it. They keep replaying every mistake, every missed opportunity, every version of themselves they're not proud of and then they wonder why they can't move forward. You cannot build something new while you're busy punishing yourself for what you used to be and yk I get it. I do it too sometimes I catch myself thinking I can't do this because of how I was, because of what I didn't do, because of time I wasted and that mindset will keep you stuck every single time. So I'm telling you right now to let her go. That girl from last year, last month, even last week she wasn't bad she was just where she was she did what she knew how to do with what she had and she got you here, which means she did something right. u don't have to forget her completely that's not even realistic but u have to forgive her and I mean really forgive her, not just say the words think about it you would forgive a friend for the exact same things without a second thought. You'd tell her it's okay, you were going through something, you didn't know better. So why is she the one person you refuse to extend that grace to?
2 quit that one side of social media : when I say you need to quit social media, I don't mean all of it I mean that side of social media. u know exactly what I'm talking about the videos of the "perfect" girl who does Pilates every morning, spends hours at the gym, has flawless skin, buys every trending product, and somehow makes her life look effortless. Watching that content every day only makes you compare yourself and feel like you're not enough. I deleted social media in april 2023 and it taught me something important : you learn to think for yourself. People ask me where I get my ideas my blogs ideas how i find answers for everything , and the answer is they come from my own mind because I reflect, read and watch thoughtful YouTube videos instead of constantly consuming trends. I'm not saying every creator is bad but the part of social media that leaves you feeling insecure isn't helping you grow. It's like sitting in a classroom full of people you think are "perfect" of course you'll compare yourself . Instead of spending hours watching influencers and buying whatever they recommend, spend that time learning, creating, and building your own life. reeeeeeal growth doesn't come from copying someone else's routine it comes from focusing on yourself and taking realistic steps toward becoming the best version of YOU .
3 detect ur bad habits write them down : This one is more important than most people realize and it's exactly why so many self-improvement journeys quietly fail. People jump straight into building new habits without ever stopping to look at what they're actually working against. So they build on top of the old habits without dismantling them, and eventually those old habits pull them right back. What you need to do first is sit down and write them out. Not all of them don't overwhelm yourself trying to fix your entire life at once. Pick four ur four worst most consistent bad habits, and write them down. Then, for every single one, replace it with something better for example a bad habit like skipping meals the good habit to do instead is cook ur own food . so replace it because that's what actually works ur brain needs something to go to instead otherwise it just defaults back to what it knows. This is what helped me stop procrastinating. It's what helped me stop snoozing my alarm, stop staying out too late, stop falling into all the little patterns that were quietly keeping me stuck. I didn't just tell myself to stop I gave myself something to do instead. And that shift makes all the difference. ur habits will look different from mine so detect yours write them down, and swap them out one by good one.
4 rest days programmation : prioritize your rest days this is really important. Instead of scheduling them the same way every week, recognize that not all weeks are the same. Most people have Sunday off, but some have a lot of homework or work to get through. So each week, schedule your own rest days or rest hours. You're not forced to take the exact same day every time. Understand that your schedule is changeable. take your rest seriously so you can actually stop and recover. This matters for productivity too: when you schedule your rest, you're more likely to stay focused during your work hours because you have something to look forward to whether that's a hangout, extra sleep or just time to yourself.
5 goals : I won't go into detail here since I've already covered it on my blog. u can click the link to learn more. I recommend following a structured goal-setting system.
6 productivity system : Track your productivity to discover when you're naturally at your peak. Most people assume they should work hardest in the morning because that's what they're told, but that's not true for everyone. ur brain follows its OWN biological rhythm, meaning your focus, memory, and mental energy naturally rise and fall throughout the day. The key is figuring out YOUR pattern instead of copying someone else's routine. rate your focus every hour on a scale from 1 to 10. Pay attention to how easily u concentrate, how often you get distracted, and how much work you complete. You'll almost certainly notice patterns. Maybe you're laser-focused between 8–11 a.m., hit a slump after lunch, and regain energy in the evening. Or maybe your best thinking doesn't happen until late at night so once you identify those patterns, schedule your most important tasks during your peak hours and leave emails, meetings, or repetitive work for lower-energy periods. think of it like driving a car , u wouldn't floor the accelerator with an empty gas tank ur brain works the same way. If you constantly force yourself to do difficult work when your energy is low, you procrastinate more, and the quality of your work suffers but when you align your schedule with your natural energy levels, you'll accomplish more in less time TRUUUUUUUST ME u stay focused longer, and feel far less mentally drained by the end of the day.
7 routines : I like organizing life into three clear categories because it makes everything simpler and more intentional: rest routines for vacation, lock-in routines for exams weeks , and daily routines for normal days. Each one has a different purpose but all of them still work with your biology instead of against it. Rest routines are for recovery slowing down, sleeping better, moving softly, and letting ur nervous system reset without pressure. Lock-in routines are for high-focus periods like exams, where you tighten ur schedule, reduce distractions, and use your peak energy hours more efficiently while still including short breaks so you don’t burn out. Daily routines are the balance between both simple habits that keep you stable, productive, and grounded without feeling extreme. The key is knowing that you don’t need one perfect routine for everything u need different systems for different phases of life. When you switch between these intentionally, you stay consistent without overwhelming yourself, and you perform better because you’re always matching your routine to your current situation instead of forcing one fixed lifestyle all the time.
8. do a 7-day challenge : A 7-day challenge is one of the best ways to build discipline and prove to yourself that you can stay consistent. This step is really important because it's where you start applying everything you've already planned: your routines, your habits, your goals, and all the daily actions you've been working on. Instead of thinking, "I have to do this forever," tell yourself, "I'm only going to do this for seven days." That mindset makes it feel much easier challenge yourself to show up every day, even if you don't do everything perfectly. Remember, discipline isn't about perfection it's about consistency. During those seven days keep following ur routines, and practicing your habits. Some days will be easier than others, and that's completely normal. I'm not saying you'll do everything 100% perfectly every single day, but the more you repeat your habits, the more natural they become. By the end of the challenge u'll notice that you're getting used to your new lifestyle ur routines will become familiar, and ur habits will slowly stick with you. Sometimes all you need is one week to prove to yourself that you're capable of becoming more disciplined once you experience that feeling, it's much easier to continue.
9 self-care : ur goals should never come at the expense of your mental health. Whether your goal is getting better grades, becoming healthier, or improving yourself, make sure self-care is part of that journey It's not something you earn after working hard it's something that helps you keep going. Take care of yourself inside and out. Spend time doing things that genuinely make you feel refreshed. Go outside, do your skincare, , take a relaxing shower, journal, read a book, or simply spend some quiet time alone. Self-care looks different for everyone, so do whatever helps you feel calm and recharged. Rest days are just as important as productive days as i said . Rest means you're allowing your body and mind to recover so you can come back stronger. You don't have to follow a ten-step skincare routine every single day or spend hours on self-care. In fact, trying to do too much can become overwhelming. As women, our nervous system and hormones affect almost everything our mood, our energy, our motivation, and even our skin. When you consistently take care of yourself, you're supporting your mental health as well as your physical health u become more emotionally balanced, you recover from stressful days more easily, and you have more energy to keep working toward your goals.
10 remember ur priorities every day : One of the easiest ways to stay motivated is to remind yourself of your priorities every single day. For me my biggest priorities are my Deen, my education, my health ur priorities might look different, but you should always know what matters most to you. A lot of people recommend making vision boards filled with aesthetic pictures, expensive houses, dream vacations, and luxury lifestyles. If that works for you, then that's great. I visualize the life I want whenever I start feeling burned out, lazy, or stuck in procrastination, I remind myself why I started I picture my future, I remember the promises I've made to myself, and I imagine the feeling of finally achieving my goals. That alone gives me enough motivation to get up and keep working. ur priorities should always be stronger than your temporary feelings. Whenever your motivation disappears, remind yourself why you started.
11 self-confidence is built over time : after practicing all of these habits consistently, you'll slowly begin to build real self-confidence. Confidence doesn't magically appear overnight, and it definitely doesn't come from someone else giving it to you. It comes from proving to yourself that you can trust yourself. When you start seeing progress, even if it's only 1% every day, you naturally begin to believe in yourself more. You feel mentally stronger, physically healthier, and more balanced overall. That feeling creates genuine confidence. Many people think confidence comes from having perfect looks, perfect clothes, or being exactly like someone they admire. I completely disagree honey cuz confidence has very little to do with appearance. It starts with how you see yourself and how you treat yourself. Don't copy someone else's personality or lifestyle just because you think it will make you more confident. Be yourself. Build your own routines, your own habits, and your own life. That's the healthiest way to develop confidence because it's based on who you really are. Confidence takes time some days you won't feel confident at all and that's okay. Keep showing up anyway. After months of working on yourself, taking care of yourself, and staying consistent u'll look back and realize how much you've changed. That's when you'll understand that confidence isn't something you find it's something you build.
12 live ur life : this is your life, so live it for yourself. When I say "live your life," I mean making sure that most of the things you're working toward are things that truly matter to you not things you're doing just to impress other people. Of course, we all care about our families and the people around us, but at the end of the day, your life should reflect your own dreams, your own personality, and your own values. When you're honest with yourself about your journey, you stop feeling like you're copying everyone else u stop chasing someone else's version of success and start creating your own. That's one of the most freeing feelings you can have. There will always be ups and downs some days you'll feel amazing, and other days you'll feel like giving up. That's normal. But don't let your circumstances convince you that you can't live the life you want acne shouldn't stop you hijab shouldn't stop you ur insecurities shouldn't stop you other people's opinions shouldn't stop you even your fears shouldn't stop you. If there's something you've always wanted to do, go for it. Nobody is living your life except you wear what makes you feel confident, learn new skills, start new hobbies, travel when you can, work toward your dreams, and create a life that makes you genuinely happy. At the same time, always remember to take care of yourself and make healthy decisions. Living your life doesn't mean doing things that hurt you It means choosing the life that feels authentic to you and becoming the person you've always wanted to be !!
13 always always forgive urself : forgiveness is one of the most important parts of becoming the best version of yourself. In fact, it connects back to the very first step of this guide letting go of your old self. If you want to grow, you have to stop punishing yourself for who you used to be. Before I go to sleep especially in my prayers I always forgive myself. It has become a habit, and I genuinnnnely think everyone should practice it. Every single day, remind yourself that u're human u're not a robot, and you were never meant to be perfect. There will be days when you don't finish your to-do list. There will be days when you skip a habit, lose motivation, or make mistakes. There will even be times when you feel like you've gone backwards instead of forwards. That's part of every journey. Instead of blaming yourself, learn to speak to yourself with kindness. Treat yourself the way you would treat someone you love. If your best friend made a mistake, you probably wouldn't tell her she was a failure u would encourage her to keep going. Give yourself that same kindness one thing that really helps me is imagining my old self as a different person the version of me from years ago still exists in my mind sometimes. She comes back with old habits, old fears, and old ways of thinking. Instead of hating that version of myself, I forgive her. She didn't know what I know now. She did the best she could with what she had. As you continue growing, you'll almost feel like there are two versions of you: the old you and the new you. The old version may still whisper doubts and bring back old habits, but the new version keeps choosing growth. Don't fight your old self with hate thank her for getting you this far, forgive her, and continue becoming the person you're working so hard to be.
14 stay clean and put together : being put together isn't about looking expensive or perfect It's about respecting yourself enough to take care of your hygiene, your appearance, and your health. start with the basics stay clean, smell good, and create little getting ready routines that make you feel like the best version of yourself. one thing I personally love is perfume. I always have one signature scent that I wear for the whole year. When the bottle finishes, I buy it again because I love having a scent that people associate with me. It's a small detail but it makes me feel confident and put together. find ur own signature. It could be a perfume, a hairstyle, a piece of jewelry, or even a certain style of clothing it just has to feel like you. for skincare, keep things simple u don't need ten different products or every viral skincare item online consistency matters much more than having a complicated routine. Also remember that healthy skin doesn't only come from skincare. A huge part of skincare comes from inside your body ur sleep, your stress levels, and your overall health. do ur hair however you like it. If you love curly hair, wear it curly. If you love straight hair, straighten it. If you like blowouts get a blowout. I honestly don't understand WHYYYYYY people judge others so much over hair or clothes. There are millions of girls with straight hair who curl it because they like the look. There are girls with curly or wavy hair like me who enjoy straightening it. I have naturally wavy-curly hair, but I personally love wearing it straight because I have layers, and I love how it frames my face. That doesn't mean I hate my natural hair it just means I enjoy styling it differently. It's your hair It's your body It's your life. People will always have opinions, but they're not living your life. Don't let someone else's judgment stop you from expressing yourself in a way that makes you feel beautiful and confident. ( I'm not saying you should be insecure about your natural features or feel like you need surgery or cosmetic procedures to be beautiful. My point is simply that there's nothing wrong with enjoying different hairstyles, makeup, fashion, or other forms of self-expression. )
15 clean eating : When I say "clean eating," I don't mean following an unrealistic diet or only eating salads every day. I simply mean eating in a way that makes your body feel good. Please don't starve yourself. Eat until you're full. Your body needs food, especially if you're still young and growing. Don't let social media convince you that eating one apple a day is healthy because it isn't. If you want a burger, eat a burger. Better yet, make one at home using good-quality bread, fresh vegetables, and good meat. Homemade meals are often much healthier while still letting you enjoy the foods you love. I personally think breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day because it gives you energy don't skiiiiiiiip it I also like having dinner earlier in the evening and keeping it lighter before going to bed. u don't have to cut out every food you enjoy. Life is meant to be enjoyed. Just try to find balance. Try to reduce soda as much as possible. I know that's hard because I personally love Coke especially when I have headaches (i think im the only one hh) but I've noticed that drinking it too often affects my skin so I try not to drink it every day. the same goes for processed snacks like chips I rarely eat them anymore because they don't make me feel good physically hh i don't really know how to explain it too much salt makes my body feel awful i also loove these girl dinner plates omggg . Everyone's body reacts differently, so pay attention to the foods that make you feel your best and the ones that don't. Try to eat a balanced variety of foods instead of eating the same things every day. Include vegetables, fruits, protein, healthy fats, and carbohydrates. If you're grocery shopping and your budget allows it, sometimes buying higher-quality ingredients is worth it. If you're a woman try learning about eating according to your menstrual cycle It won't solve every problem, but many women find that adjusting their nutrition around their cycle helps with energy levels and overall well-being.
16 go outside : going outside is one of the simplest things you can do for your mental health, yet so many people underestimate it. Whenever you feel stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, or even a little depressed, try getting out of the house. u don't need an expensive activity or a lot of money. Sometimes I only have a few bucks, and I'll still go to the supermarket just to walk around for a while. Other times I'll go for a walk, listen to music, sit somewhere peaceful, or simply spend time outside. I genuinely love walking. Fresh air helps clear my mind, especially in the morning when the sun is out. Morning sunlight can completely change your mood and help you feel more awake and motivated. Go to parks, green spaces, cafés, shops, or anywhere that gets you out of your room. If you have friends, ask them to come with you. Don't be afraid to reach out first. Sometimes all you need is a short walk before going back to studying or working. It gives your brain a chance to reset so you can focus again. go touch some grass.
17 unf*ck ur life very month : every month, give yourself a fresh start . after weeks of working hard, dealing with setbacks, celebrating wins, and learning new lessons, it's important to stop and reflect. at the end of each month, look back at your progress. Ask yourself what went well, what didn't, and what you can improve next month. Growth is about constantly adjusting. I also think it's nice to do a little shopping if you've been saving money. Buy something you've genuinely wanted, even if it's something small It doesn't have to be expensive. Sometimes rewarding yourself for your hard work reminds you that your effort is worth something. Another important part of your monthly reset is cleaning your space. clean your room, organize your desk, throw away things you don't use anymore, donate clothes you never wear, delete unnecessary files, and remove anything that's creating unnecessary clutter. Think of every month as shedding old skin. u're leaving behind old habits, old mistakes, and old versions of yourself while growing into someone stronger. Not every month will be amazing ofc some months you'll make huge progress, and other months you'll simply survive and that's okay. If you realize you've been pushing yourself tooooooo hard, slow down a little. If you've become too comfortable, challenge yourself again. ur monthly reset is your chance to realign with your goals and remind yourself why you started in the first place. Every month is a new opportunity to become someone even better than you were before.
18 have FUN : One of the biggest lessons I've learned is to be friends with everyone. I don't mean becoming a people pleaser or trying to fit into every group. I mean being open enough to talk to everyone, no matter who they are. In high school especially, people judge each other way too quickly. Some people get bullied, ignored, or labeled as "smart," "lazy," or "weird," and most students never look beyond those labels I decided to talk to everyone. I became friends with the top students last year , and while I respected how hard they worked, being around them all the time made me feel like my value depended on my grades . Most conversations were about school, exams, and achievement, and I constantly compared myself to them (toxic nerds) . Then I became friends with the students that everyone looked down on THIS YEAR . People thought I was crazy for hanging out with them but what I realized is that most of these people didn't need someone to judge them they just needed a little push ( I AM AN AMBITIOUS STUDENT ). Many of them weren't lazy or incapable they had simply stopped believing in themselves because everyone else had already given up on them. Sometimes all it takes is one person who believes in you, includes you, or motivates you. I even noticed that some of them started trying harder just because they were surrounded by someone who believed they could do more. At the same time, they taught me lessons that no textbook ever could they taught me empathy, resilience, humor, and how to enjoy life without constantly comparing myself to others. Of course, having friends from every group doesn't mean copying everyone's behavior. Some of my friends made choices I didn't agree with, and that's where boundaries become important. u can care about people without following their path. u can respect someone without making them part of your inner circle. The point is to stop being so picky about who you talk to. Every person has a different story, a different perspective, and something valuable to teach u. Some people will inspire you, others will warn you, but everyone can teach you something. If you only stay around people who are exactly like you, your world stays small. The more kinds of people you meet, the more you understand life, and the more you grow as a person.
There are plenty of other habits that can help shape your personality. Start journaling, read more books, learn a new language, and stay curious about the world. Small, consistent habits like these can make you more confident, knowledgeable, and interesting to talk to. Most importantly, stay positive. A positive mindset will help you through challenges and make your journey much more enjoyable. Learn to forgive yourself when you make mistakes, spend time with people you care about, and don't forget to have fun. I know some people might disagree with this last point, but I genuinely believe it's important. Go out, try new experiences, and do the things you've always wanted to do. Those experiences will give you stories to tell, help you connect with others, and make everyday conversations feel much more natural. That's why I encourage you to stay open-minded and embrace new opportunities
@bloomzone
It's been 4 years since I started tumblr as a wonyoungism girlblogger ! , this is what u should know ! part 1
if u see a new wonyoungism girlie trying to eat one apple a day, don't insult her give her advice politelyyy.
wonyoungism is a miiiiiiiiiiiindseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
u don't need an 18-step skincare routine. a cleanser, moisturizer, and a target treatment are enough. if ur skin keeps getting worse , go see a dermatologist , influencers aren't dermatologists, so do ur research before buying products.
u are not forced to wear pastel colors to be a wonyoungism girlie.
body care is important, but that doesn't mean u need expensive products.
i prefer french pharmacy over korean skincare. korean skincare has some amazing products but not everything is good just because a korean girl used it so buy products with solid ingredients and research behind them.
plastic surgery is very common in korea, so don't feel insecure or compare urself.
face massages won't give u filler results , fillers are fillers for a reason.
pilates works if u stay consistent, but it won't magically make ur legs longer this is genetics and bone structure.
focus on ur own features be happy cuz u were born this way , stop chasing korean beauty standards.
education is important.
juices won't clear ur skin directly.
just because a korean tiktoker said "my mom is 148yo and has the skin of a 20yo because she's been using this product since ww1 😍" DOESN'T mean u need it cuz babe it's literally an ad.
lucky vicky mindset >>>
stop living off ramen and processed food every day I'M WARNING UUU
breakfast matters
read more books
touch some grass
stop believing "glass skin in 7 days" video BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBSSSSSSSSS
gua sha is great but if ur skin is inflamed or u have severe acne PUT THIS BULLSHIT DOWN.
toner pads are cute but they're overrated u don't need them for ACHIEVING glass skin and stop rubbing them all over ur eyes and also they're lowkey just making more trash just buy a toner atp
be proud of ur culture and traditions.
u don't need to buy every 'wonyoungism' product to get pretty hair or clear skin there are so many good budget options.
SUNSCREEN IS IMPORTANT!!
don't start using retinol just because tiktok told u to if ur a teen or preteen u most likely don't need it save it for when ur skin actually needs it or when you're older
stop expecting results after 2 days
Not every serious skin concern has a DIY solution hiding in ur kitchen , apple peels, lemon juice, or random homemade masks are not going to cure acne, fade deep scars, or replace proper skincare
Chewing on chopsticks won't give you a sculpted jawline , ur facial structure is mostly determined by genetics, body fat percentage, and, in some cases cosmetic procedures hh
if you're wondering how idols like Jang Wonyoung, Winter or Karina always have that incredibly smooth, glowing look the answer isn't a secret fruit or face massages It's a combination of good skincare, professional treatments, professional makeup, lighting, editing, and yes moooney
eating tomatoes won't make your skin lighter.
progress over perfection

Imagine getting into your dream university in your own country without even having to take the entrance exam because your grades were that good , only for your parents to refuse because you'd be living away from them and they think you'll "ghost" them (before anyone says it's about money they can absolutely afford it) aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
The funny thing is that on the day of the fight with my parents they actually thought I wanted to study there because I had a boyfriend ??? I was like hh what kind of mindset is that ? I have a plan B.
My parents have been talking for years about sending me abroad to Italy tbh I love the idea. Ever since I was a kid, they've told me that studying abroad would save my future and give me a better life the problem isn't ItalyI genuinely want to go I want to study there learn the language experience the culture and immerse myself in the art (as a literature student that excites me sm) What I don't like is the way they've always presented it cuz instead of making me appreciate the opportunity, they've made it feel like an obligation they've never shown me the beauty of living abroad they've made it feel like something I have to do rather than something I can look forward to because of that I almost started rejecting the idea, even though deep down it's something I've always wanted. I think I need time to separate my own dreams from the pressure they've put on me.
So my plan I'm going to prepare for the TOEFL exam and aim for a really high score. I'm hoping to take it in September If I do well, I'll be able to apply to the universities and programs that choose and no one will be able to stop me from pursuing my goals. More than anything, I want to live independently I want to have my own space and build my own life away from my parents and the rest of my family It's not that I don't love them but over the last three years, our relationship has changed and I no longer feel at peace around their energy , may God forgive me but I truly believe that creating some distance is what I need right now.

@bloomzone
How skincare really works !
If you’ve ever started a skincare product and wondered why nothing is happening after a week u’re not alone girl . The problem is that skincare marketing makes everything sound immediate when in reality your skin works on a much slower biological timeline. Some ingredients work in days, others take months and most people never get told the difference so i made this guide breaks down the main skincare actives, what they actually do, and when you should realistically expect to see results !
1. Cleanser (face wash) ur cleanser is step one the most underrated product in any routine. People spend hundreds on serums and then wash their face with whatever soap is in the shower and that is where everything goes wrong. Bar soap and harsh cleansers 5even dove) have a high pH that literally strips the protective layer off your skin. ur skin then spends the rest of the day trying to repair that damage instead of benefiting from whatever you applied after. A gentle, pH-balanced cleanser is non-negotiable. Gel formula for oily and acne-prone skin, cream or milk for dry and sensitive. Use it morning and night, every day for the time , the skin feels cleaner immediately that part is obvious. Congestion starts clearing within 1–2 weeks if you were not cleansing properly before. But the thing is a cleanser alone will not transform your skin. It creates the conditions for everything else to work. Think of it as clearing the canvas. By 4–6 weeks of consistent twice-daily cleansing your skin will be in a meaningfully better baseline state, but you will not wake up with different skin just from washing your face. It just stops things from getting worse and makes your actives actually penetrate. There is some, you will see some Korean girls or influencers in general. You will see them using everything but cleanser and their skin is clear they dont have a skin condition . Don't believe those people, you need a cleanser, like it's really rare when a person can't use a cleanser from me, for example I have acne prone skin and sometimes I only wash face with water if my skin doesn't feel bad in that period for example like I use an exfoliated cleanser so I only wash my face at night but if my skin starts to get bad I start washing in the morning and afternoon and of course moisture after that condition of not using cleanser is really rare but really you need it . u might see some influencers especially Korean skincare creators, saying they don’t use a cleanser and still have perfect skin. In most cases, these are people who simply don’t have any underlying skin conditions and naturally have very resilient skin. But that doesn’t make it a rule for everyone. for most skin types, a cleanser is still necessary because water alone can’t properly remove sunscreen, oil, sweat, or pollution. Over time, that buildup can affect your pores even if your skin looks fine at first. There can still be flexibility depending on your skin. For example, when my acne-prone skin is calm, I might skip a morning cleanse and just rinse with water, especially if I used an active cleanser at night. But if my skin starts getting congested, I always go back to cleansing consistently.
2. Toner and essence .. do you actually need them? NO but they are not useless either. A toner rebalances your skin's pH after cleansing and helps what comes next absorb a bit better. An essence is basically a very lightweight watery serum extra hydration, some actives, nice texture. Neither of them is doing anything your serum and moisturizer are not already doing. If your routine is already working, adding a toner will not suddenly fix your skin. If your routine is not working, a toner is not what is missing. Use them if you enjoy the ritual or your skin genuinely feels better with them. Skip them if you are overwhelmed or on a budget. Your skin will not know the difference. for reality check on timing: any effect is subtle , slightly better absorption of products over 1–2 weeks nothing magical its not some waaaaaaaaaaaaw thing
3. Hyaluronic acid Hyaluronic acid is naturally in your skin already its job is to hold water in the tissue. One molecule can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water c but basically means your skin stays plump and hydrated when you have enough of it. Sun damage and aging deplete it over time which is why skin progressively looks duller and more lined. Using it topically is one of the simplest things you can do and it genuinely works fast. The one thing to know: apply it on damp skin and put moisturizer on top immediately. If you apply it on completely dry skin it will try to pull moisture from the air and if u are in a dry environment it will pull from your own skin instead and leave you more dehydrated than before. This is genuinely one of the fastest ingredients in skincare. Skin looks plumper and feels better within minutes of the first use. Dry patches and tightness are consistently gone within 1–2 weeks. Fine lines look softer after 3–4 weeks simply because the tissue is staying hydrated. But and this is important none of this is permanent. The moment you stop using it the hydration benefit goes with it.
4. Moisturizer A moisturizer is IMPORTAANT ur skin barrier is the outermost layer that keeps moisture inside and keeps bacteria, pollution, and irritants outside. When it gets damaged by harsh products, over-exfoliation, cold weather, or stress everything goes wrong at once redness, sensitivity, breakouts, tightness, skin that reacts to everything. A good moisturizer rebuilds that barrier using three types of ingredients working together: humectants that pull water in, emollients that smooth and fill cracks in the surface and occlusives that seal everything in. Even oily skin needs this Skipping moisturizer because your skin is oily just strips the barrier and makes your skin produce more oil to compensate. what ik is that dry skin it's best to use a rich thick moisturizer. I can't remember the exact name of the products but it's a Cerave product really good one that comes in a blue container It's excellent for keeping dry skin hydrated. If you have oily skin, it's better to stick with a lightweight moisturizer or lotion , Neutrogena also has some great options I'm planning to buy the Neutrogena moisturizer because thick creams aren't ideal for acne-prone or very oily skin they can feel heavy and may contribute to clogged pores. for time , comfort is immediate skin feels less tight the same day. Flaking and active dryness resolve within 3–7 days. A genuinely stronger, less reactive barrier takes 2–4 weeks to rebuild. After that your skin will visibly tolerate other products better, react less to weather, and feel more stable overall.
5. Glycolic acid Glycolic acid is an AHA 'alpha hydroxy acid' and its job is to dissolve the glue holding dead skin cells onto your surface. Your skin sheds naturally but this process slows down with age, sun damage, and dehydration, causing a buildup that makes skin look dull, rough, and uneven. Glycolic acid clears that layer efficiently because it has the smallest molecule of any AHA meaning it penetrates deepest and works the fastest. That also makes it the most likely to irritate sensitive skin. Over time it also signals the deeper layers of skin to produce more collagen. Always use SPF when using this exfoliated skin is more vulnerable to sun damage and you will undo every benefit if you are not protected. Skin feels smoother within 1–2 weeks this is the first thing you notice. Brightness and evening of tone come at 3–4 weeks. Dark spots start meaningfully fading at 6–8 weeks. A genuinely more even complexion develops around 3 months. For texture and dullness it is one of the faster-working ingredients but for pigmentation it still requires patience.
6. Lactic acid Lactic acid does the same job as glycolic acid dissolves dead skin cell buildup on the surface but it does it more gently because its molecule is larger and does not penetrate as aggressively. The other difference is that lactic acid also attracts water to the skin as it exfoliates, so you get smoother and more hydrated skin rather than potentially drier skin the way glycolic can leave you. If you have sensitive skin, dry skin, or a darker skin tone where aggressive exfoliation risks causing more dark spots through irritation, lactic acid is almost always the smarter choice. Skin is smoother within 1–2 weeks. Brighter and more even by 3–4 weeks. Pigmentation fades from 6–8 weeks onward. Results are slightly more gradual than glycolic but the risk of a setback from irritation is much lower, which in practice often means faster overall progress because you are not having to recover from a reaction.
7. Salicylic acid Salicylic acid is a BHA 'beta hydroxy acid' and it is fundamentally different from AHAs in one way that matters enormously it is oil-soluble. That means instead of working on the surface like glycolic and lactic acid, it can actually travel into the pore through the sebum and dissolve the mixture of oil and dead skin cells that causes blackheads and acne from the inside out. No other over-the-counter acid does this. It also has anti-inflammatory properties so it calms existing pimples while preventing new ones. If your main concerns are clogged pores, blackheads, and recurring breakouts, this is your acid. If your concerns are dullness and surface texture, an AHA is the better choice. Many people with oily acne-prone skin benefit from both. Blackheads and congestion are noticeably fewer within 1–2 weeks this is one of the faster visible changes in skincare. Pores look cleaner by 3–4 weeks. Breakout frequency drops significantly at 6–8 weeks. salicylic acid manages acne it does not cure it. Stop using it and the congestion will slowly return because the underlying tendency to clog pores is still there It is an ongoing management tool, not a one-time fix !
8. Azelaic acid , azelaic acid is genuinely one of the most underrated ingredients in skincare and dermatologists love it precisely because of how much it does without causing the irritation that most effective actives come with. It kills acne-causing bacteria. It calms the inflammation that drives rosacea It blocks the production of melanin to fade dark spots It does all three simultaneously and it is safe for sensitive skin, rosacea skin, darker skin tones where other acids can cause rebound pigmentation .Redness and inflammation calm within 2–4 weeks rosacea-prone people often notice this first and it can feel quite significant. Dark spots and post-acne marks start fading at 4–8 weeks. By 3 months both the acne and the pigmentation it leaves behind are meaningfully improved. It is slow but for sensitive or reactive skin that cannot use stronger actives, it is often the most effective realistic option and the 3-month result is genuinely impressive compared to where the skin started.
9. Benzoyl peroxide Benzoyl peroxide has been used in dermatology for decades and it remains one of the most effective acne treatments available it kills the bacteria that cause acne, and those bacteria cannot develop resistance to it. This matters because antibiotic-resistant acne is a growing real problem. It works by releasing oxygen directly inside the pore the bacteria that cause acne hate oxygen because they evolved to live in the oxygen-free environment of a clogged pore, so flooding it with oxygen kills them efficiently. Start at 2.5% it works just as well as 10% with far less dryness and irritation. Always moisturize after !!!!!!!! . so benzoyl peroxide is the fastest acne ingredient available for active breakouts. redness and swelling on a pimple reduce within 1–3 days. Active breakouts visibly clear within 3–7 days. The overall frequency of new breakouts drops with consistent use over 4–6 weeks as the bacterial load on your skin stays low. The honest reality is that it needs to be maintained it is reducing the bacteria population on your skin, and when you stop using it the population rebuilds !!!
10. Retinoids (retinol / tretinoin) Retinoids are the most clinically proven skincare ingredient that exists full stop girl . Decades of research, thousands of studies, used by dermatologists worldwide for acne, anti-aging, pigmentation, and texture. Nothing else comes close in terms of what it can actually do to your skin at a biological level. It works by getting inside your skin cells and changing how they behave speeding up the rate at which old cells are replaced by new ones, preventing the dead cell clumping that causes clogged pores, telling the deeper layers of skin to produce more collagen, and reducing melanin production. Tretinoin is prescription strength and the most potent. Retinol is the over-the-counter version that your skin has to convert slower but still genuinely effective with consistent use. Start slow: two nights a week at a low concentration, build up over months. The first 2–4 weeks are often the worst skin gets dry, flaky, red, and can break out more than before. This is called purging and it is real it is the accelerated cell turnover pushing existing congestion to the surface all at once. It passes. By 6–8 weeks the purging resolves and genuine improvement begins clearer skin, smoother texture, less congestion. At 3–6 months the results are often the most significant transformation a skincare product has ever produced for most people. Full anti-aging results actual structural changes in the collagen of the dermis take 6–12 months. This is the longest timeline on this list. It is also the most worth it. For anti-aging purposes, many dermatologists recommend starting retinol in your early 20s. I once heard a dermatologist explain that your skin's collagen production begins to gradually decline around that age, which is why some people choose to start using retinol then. If you're still a kid or a teenager, there's usually no need to use retinol unless a dermatologist specifically recommends it for a skin condition like acne.
11. Vitamin C serum Vitamin C in its active form L-ascorbic acid is your skin's defense against daily damage. Every day UV radiation and pollution generate free radicals on your skin that break down collagen and cause pigmentation. Vitamin C neutralizes those free radicals before they can damage your cells it is essentially intercepting the damage before it happens. On top of that it directly blocks the enzyme that produces melanin to fade existing dark spots, and it stimulates collagen production independently. Use it in the morning before SPF that is when it provides the most protection against the environmental damage your skin faces during the day. Store it away from light and heat because it degrades and turns orange when exposed to air, at which point it is inactive. Brighter and more radiant skin tone appears within 2–4 weeks this is usually the first thing people notice and it is genuinely encouraging. Visible fading of dark spots begins at 6–8 weeks. A meaningfully more even complexion develops at 3 months of consistent morning use. A lot of its benefit is also preventive stopping new damage from forming which you cannot see happening but is arguably more valuable long-term than the visible brightening.
What ur skin type can and can’t change
This is the conversation that matters more than any product recommendation, because the number one reason people give up on skincare is unrealistic expectations set by content that is designed to sell products rather than tell the truth
Oily skin is the most resilient skin type and generally responds the fastest to treatment. It is more tolerant of actives, less prone to barrier damage, and the most likely to see dramatic visible improvement from the right routine. With consistent salicylic acid, niacinamide, a lightweight moisturizer, and SPF, oiliness and breakouts are visibly more controlled within 3–4 weeks. Noticeably clearer skin is realistic by 2–3 months. But oily skin will always be oily skin. The pore size you have is determined by genetics nooooooo product shrinks pores permanently some ingredients make them appear smaller by keeping them clear, but the moment you stop the routine the oiliness and congestion return. The goal is management to a comfortable, healthy level. Not transformation into a different skin type. For those of you who think influencers have no pores, that's not true. Everyone has pores they're a natural and essential part of your skin. What you're seeing is usually good lighting, makeup, filters, or editing. Some people also get cosmetic treatments at clinics to make their pores look less visible (botox) . But tbh I don't recommend doing that just for appearance ur pores are there for a reason and unnecessary cosmetic procedures can come with risks
Dry skin responds quickly to hydration but slowly to everything else. The immediate discomfort tightness, flaking, sensitivity improves within days of proper moisturization and hyaluronic acid. But dry skin is also the most reactive and needs a stable barrier before it can tolerate any actives. Rushing into acids or retinol on a compromised dry skin barrier causes reactions, setbacks, and the feeling that nothing works. The realistic approach is 4–6 weeks of purely barrier-building cleanser, hyaluronic acid, moisturizer before introducing any active ingredient. From that point results from actives come steadily. Full healthy, even, calm dry skin takes about 3–4 months. Dry skin often shows the most visible improvement from skincare simply because the starting point was so uncomfortable but it requires the most patience in the building phase.
Combination skin is the most common and the most confusing because your T-zone and your cheeks are essentially two different skin types on the same face. The oily T-zone responds like oily skin faster and more tolerant. The dry cheeks respond like dry skin more reactive and needing more moisture. Any routine has to balance both without over-drying the cheeks or under-treating the T-zone. The timeline splits accordingly: oiliness and T-zone breakouts improve within 3–5 weeks, while the drier and more sensitive areas take 6–8 weeks to fully stabilize. The honest reality is that combination skin will always be combination skin. Temperature, hormones, seasons, and stress will always affect the balance. The goal is to keep both zones manageable simultaneously, not to make your whole face behave identically.
Sensitive skin has the longest timeline of any skin type and the most setbacks. It reacts to new products easily, meaning actives must be introduced one at a time with 2–3 weeks between each new addition to isolate reactions. A full effective routine can take 3–4 months just to build without triggering inflammation. When a reaction happens and it will at some point recovery time eats into progress and the temptation to try something new is exactly the wrong response. Results from actives like retinol or glycolic acid take considerably longer to appear on sensitive skin because they must be used at lower concentrations and less frequently often seeing results in 4–6 months where other skin types see them in 6–8 weeks. Sensitive skin does not become non-sensitive. Products can strengthen the barrier and reduce reactivity significantly but the underlying sensitivity is a genetic characteristic of the skin. The realistic goal is a calm, stable, well-managed baseline rather than a fundamentally different skin type.
Acne-prone skin is where the most damaging unrealistic expectations exist (my skin type sadly) . The before-and-after photos you see on social media are real in the sense that the person's skin did change but what you are not seeing is the combination of prescription medication, professional treatments like chemical peels or laser, dietary changes, hormonal management, months of consistent routine, professional photography lighting, and sometimes subtle editing that produced that result. Topical skincare alone no matter how well-chosen has genuine biological limits for acne. For mild to moderate acne with the right routine including salicylic acid, niacinamide, benzoyl peroxide, and eventually retinoids, real improvement in breakout frequency and skin clarity is realistic within 2–3 months. But acne-prone skin stays acne-prone. The routine has to be maintained or breakouts return. For moderate to severe acne, or acne that is primarily hormonal (yeah me) worse around your period, along the jawline, deep and cystic topical skincare is not enough and a dermatologist who can prescribe oral treatments will produce results that no serum ever could. If you have been consistent with a solid routine for 3–4 months and are not seeing meaningful improvement, that is the signal to see a professional not to buy another
Clear skin as a permanent state does not exist for most people. Skin is a living organ that responds to sleep, stress, hormones, diet, seasons, and a hundred other variables every single day even people with genuinely good skin have bad skin days, weeks, and months. What consistent skincare actually produces is a better baseline a starting point that is healthier, more resilient, and recovers faster when things go wrong. stay true to urself and love urself <3 .

A little skincare advice for girls dealing with acne, sensitivity, dryness, or any REAL skin problems: if your skin is constantly irritated but you’re still switching between expensive, aesthetic, “TikTok-famous” skincare products, that’s probably part of the issue. A lot of these (ifykyk) glittery, cute, influencer-hyped products are designed more for marketing than for long-term skin health, and just because something is viral or “thousands of girls said it works” doesn’t mean it’s actually suitable for your skin. Lately, a lot of influencers have started launching or promoting skincare brands , but popularity on social media doesn’t equal dermatological proof or compatibility with your skin type. When you keep changing products, layering too many actives, or chasing every new trend, your skin barrier never really gets time to heal, which can lead to a cycle of irritation, breakouts, and more product buying that makes things worse instead of better. The truth is that dermatologists usually rely on simple, proven formulas that have existed for years because they’re tested and predictable .That’s why long-standing brands like CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, Neutrogena, Cetaphil, Eucerin, Bioderma, and Aveeno are still widely recommended after decades not because they’re trendy, but because they consistently support the skin barrier, acne-prone skin, and sensitivity without unnecessary irritation. so skincare isn’t about aesthetics or viral hype, it’s about consistency, patience, and sticking to what is proven to work over time . remember to always check the ingridients

my 5 pillars of an anti-Inflammatory lifestyle
Hello everyone , so I was told that my last blog post about the 9 habits got a lot of attention, so I might start sharing more content about female health, lifestyle, balance, stress, and living an anti-inflammatory lifestyle. (i'm not a doctor !! but i love doing des recherches hhh) . Maybe this summer will be a wellness summer for me . I'm excited to explore these topics more and share the journey with you.
So , when people hear "anti-inflammatory," they often think only about food, but for me it goes much further than nutrition. It's a complete lifestyle. so tdaay I want to share five simple and effective pillars that can help reduce inflammation and support overall health things that almost everyone can start implementing in daily life.
Before getting into all of that, it's important to listen to the body. Some days we wake up feeling energized and ready to push ourselves, and other days we feel tired and depleted. On those days, we don't need to force intense workouts or extreme productivity. Sometimes the healthiest thing we can do is move our bodies gently, stay active, and respect our energy levels rather than fighting against them.
so the first pillar of an anti-inflammatory lifestyle is the morning routine because what we do in the morning sets the tone for the rest of the day, especially from a hormonal perspective. Naturally, our cortisol levels rise when we wake up (we talked abt this before) . This is normal and necessary because cortisol helps us get out of bed and gives us energy to start the day. The goal is not to eliminate cortisol but to regulate it.
The first step is hydration : dehydration is a significant stressor for the body, and many people are more dehydrated than they realize. One of the simplest ways to support hydration is by starting the day with warm water and lemon . This helps replenish electrolytes while gently waking up the digestive system.
The second step is exposing ourselves to natural light as early as possible : morning sunlight helps regulate the circadian rhythm, which influences hormones, sleep quality, energy levels, and overall health. Even a few minutes of natural light can make a difference. Opening a window, stepping onto a balcony, or taking a short walk outside can help signal to the body that it's time to begin the day.
The third step is gentle movement : this can be stretching, yoga, mobility exercises, or a short walk. It doesn't need to take long ten minutes is enough to reconnect with the body, release tension, and avoid immediately jumping into a stressful, action-focused mindset.
The fourth step is eating a nourishing breakfast : ideally, breakfast should include protein, healthy fats, and fiber. pleeeeeeeaaaaaase this combination helps regulate blood sugar levels, support hormone health, and provide stable energy throughout the day. Eggs, fish, dairy products, oats, fruit, and healthy fats can all fit into this approach. The goal is to nourish the body and signal safety rather than creating additional stress through fasting or skipping meals.
The second pillar is digestion. Before talking about nutrition,we need to talk about digestion because even the healthiest diet won't be as effective if digestion isn't functioning properly . Many people experience bloating, gas, constipation, or digestive discomfort and assume it's normal, but these symptoms are often signs that something needs attention.
One of the biggest mistakes is eating too quickly. We need to slow down, chew properly, and treat meals as a moment of rest rather than another task to rush through. The digestive system works best when we are relaxed. Another common mistake is eating while stressed. The body cannot fully focus on digestion when it's in a fight-or-flight state. Answering emails, scrolling on social media, rushing between tasks, or feeling overwhelmed during meals can all interfere with proper digestion. Taking a few deep breaths before eating can make a significant difference. A third factor is drinking large amounts of cold beverages around meals. Warm drinks are generally easier on the digestive system and can support digestion more effectively than iced drinks consumed during or immediately after meals.
The third pillar is learning to listen to the body's signals. Today, we have access to more information than ever before, including sleep trackers, health monitors, and wearable devices that can provide valuable insights into recovery and stress levels. These tools can be useful, but they should never replace body awareness. Before looking at numbers, we need to ask ourselves how we actually feel. Are we energized? Are we exhausted? Do we need rest, movement, food, or recovery? Technology can support us, but the body should always be the primary source of information. The more we learn to pay attention to our energy levels, recovery, and stress, the easier it becomes to make choices that truly support health.
The fourth pillar is reducing exposure to invisible toxins. This is simply about becoming more aware of the environment around us. We are exposed to toxins through plastics, household products, fragrances, cookware, water, and air quality.
Simple changes can make a meaningful difference. We can choose glass containers instead of plastic whenever possible, use safer cookware, reduce exposure to heavily fragranced products, and improve air quality by opening windows regularly. Filtering drinking water can also be a simple step that supports overall health ! ( again, the goal isn't perfection It's about making small improvements wherever possible and reducing unnecessary stress on the body )
The fifth and final pillar is the evening routine. Everything we do in the evening influences sleep quality, and sleep is one of the most important factors in regulating inflammation and supporting overall health.
A supportive evening routine begins with a balanced dinner that is easy to digest. Ideally, we should allow some time between our last meal and bedtime so the body isn't focused on digestion while trying to sleep. As bedtime approaches, it's helpful to reduce stimulation. This might mean dimming lights, limiting screen time, reading, journaling, practicing gentle breathing exercises, stretching, or simply creating quiet moments of relaxation. The goal is to signal to the nervous system that it's safe to slow down and prepare for rest.
Simple habits such as keeping the bedroom cool and dark, following a consistent sleep schedule, and creating a relaxing nighttime ritual can have a powerful impact on sleep quality and recovery. (stop listening to tiktok bs yall keep things simpleeee)
At the end of the day, living an anti-inflammatory lifestyle isn't abt expensive products, or veery complicated routines. It's about supporting the body through consistent daily habits. We need to stay hydrated, get natural light, move regularly, nourish ourselves with balanced meals, support digestion, reduce unnecessary stress, limit toxin exposure where possible, and prioritize sleep.

LIFE UPDATE
yesterday was officially the end of my graduation celebrations. It was the last day I got to spend with my friends, the last time I saw my school, and the day we went to collect our diplomas. We had so much fun, and I'm going to miIIIIIIss it all so much. I'm going to miss my friends, the memories we made, and even the grind of high school itself. There are so many people and moments that I'll carry with me for a long time. So after working so hard throughout the school year, I felt like I deserved to celebrate cuz yj work hard play hard . But after coming home yesterday, I realized it's time to slow down. I've spent a lot of money, used up most of my social battery, and I'm exhausted. Even though I grew up with strict parents, I pushed myself to enjoy this period because I knew it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Looking back, I understand more and more why my parents were strict. There were things I didn't agree with, but one positive thing is that it taught me boundaries and self-discipline. Now it's time to focus on myself again, save money, and start preparing for the next chapter.
Lately I've also been reflecting on my friendships. I'm planning to change my phone number soon and keep my circle much smaller, focusing only on my closest friends. It's not about cutting people off completely it's about protecting my energy . I can't keep up with everyone all the time and I've realized that sometimes you have to let some connections fade so you can make space for new ones in the future. Right now, I need to focus on getting my life back together. My room is a complete mess, my books are everywhere, and everything feels a little chaotic. I want to spend time cleaning, organizing, and taking care of myself. My health hasn't been great lately, and I've been eating unhealthy food for the past ten days. I also want to improve my sleep schedule, focus on self-care, focus on my deen and work on becoming the best version of myself before university.
For everyone asking about my plans, Plan A is still to study abroad. I won't be starting university next year; instead, next year will be dedicated entirely to applications and preparation, and I hope to begin university in the 2027–2028 academic year. My dream is to study in Italy and pursue Global Law and International Studies. This is the goal I'm working toward right now and I'm ready to put in the effort to make it happen. If anyone is from Italy, I'd love to hear your advice. I already know which universities I'm interested in and understand most of the application process, but I'm still curious about scholarships, student life, and dealing with culture shock.
Overall, I'm really happy right now. My grades turned out better than I expected, and I'm proud of the progress I've made. I'll keep sharing updates along the way, but for now I need to stop going out so much hhh stay home for a while, recharge, and focus on myself. I'm going to start making daily to-do lists, creating better routines and slowly building the life I want for this next chapter.

9 simple habits for better hormonal balance
Hi guys, I hope you're doing well. Today, we're back with a new blooog , the first blog after my graduation aaaaaaayayy and it's a blog that you're going to love because I know many of you put a lot of effort into taking care of yourselves working out, eating well, doing all the right things yet you still often feel out of balance, exhausted, low on energy, struggling with hormonal issues, symptoms, migraines, and all sorts of things that just don't feel right. u know exactly what I'm talking about.
So the most important thing to understand is that the foundation of good health and especially hormonal health is sending your body a signal of safety. when your body feels safe, that's when it can function properly.
The first habit is the simplest : change the way you wake up. I know many of you don't want to hear this, but if you don't want to hear it, it's probably because you need to hear it hhh . In the morning, stop reaching for your phone the second you open your eyes. Don't check your messages don't scroll don't begin your day in a constant state of urgency. Don't set your alarm for the very last possible minute and then rush around trying to get ready for school It's one of the worst things you can do for yourself and your health. Naturally, your body experiences a cortisol spike in the morning that's completely normal the goal isn't to eliminate it because, without that morning cortisol peak, u simply wouldn't get out of bed. In fact, cortisol is necessary to help you wake up and function. What we want to do is regulate it not amplify it with stress, rushing, caffeine, and . give yourself some time in the morning, even if it's just five minutes. It can completely transform the rest of your day. What you do first thing in the morning often sets the tone for everything that follows. If you begin your day stressed and rushed, chances are the rest of your day will feel exactly the same. That's why it's so important to start calmly and allow your cortisol to stay balanced.
The second habit, which is also free is getting natural light exposure in the morning. This helps regulate your cortisol and melatonin cycle. Cortisol should naturally be higher in the morning and gradually decrease throughout the day, while melatonin should remain low during the day and rise in the evening to help you sleep. In simple terms, cortisol is the hormone that helps keep you alert, and melatonin is the hormone that helps you sleep. The goal is for these two hormones to work together in a stable, synchronized rhythm. When you expose yourself to natural daylight shortly after waking up, u send a clear signal to your brain that it's time to start the day. This helps regulate your circadian rhythm and supports healthy hormonal function. It's actually one of the most effective things you can do when dealing with jet lag. If you've ever traveled to a different time zone and felt completely out of sync, getting outside and exposing yourself to daylight as soon as possible is one of the best ways to help your body adjust. Even if the sun hasn't risen yet when you wake up, try to get outside as soon as you can. Maybe that's during your first break at work that's perfectly fine. And remember, it doesn't have to be a bright sunny day. Even when it's cloudy natural light is still beneficial. u may simply need a little more exposure time. Treat this habit as a non-negotiable part of your routine. You'll probably notice that it boosts your energy as well. Sometimes I wake up feeling exhausted, and after spending some time in natural light, I feel dramatically better , nature is designed that way.
The third habit is to distribute your macronutrients intelligently throughout the day. This concept is often referred to as chrononutrition, and I think it's something that doesn't get talked about enough. ur body doesn't need the same nutrients at every hour of the day. Macronutrients are proteins, carbohydrates, and fats, and timing them strategically can make a significant difference. In the morning, it's especially beneficial to eat a breakfast rich in protein and healthy fats. Protein helps support hormonal health, keeps you fuller for longer, and helps prevent major blood sugar spikes. Healthy fats are also essential because hormones are built from fat, and your brain relies on fat to function properly. Personally, I love eggs because they naturally combine protein and fat, but smoked salmon, cheese, and other nutrient-dense foods can work just as well. (don't hit me with the "nooo it's expensive" cuz it's not hhhhh just think abt it a lil) . For those of you who practice intermittent fasting, I know this may be unpopular, but it may not be the best approach if you're already dealing with hormonal issues. ur body craves safety and stability, and giving it nourishment early in the day can be incredibly supportive. At lunch, a balanced meal with complex carbohydrates is generally a good option. In the evening, however, I recommend focusing on protein and carbohydrates while keeping fats a little lower. yeees yeees carbohydrates in the evening. Contrary to what many people believe, eating carbohydrates at night doesn't automatically cause weight gain. In fact carbohydrates help support the production of serotonin and melatonin, which can promote better sleep. Choosing complex carbohydrates in the evening can help your body relax and prepare for rest. Keeping fats slightly lower at dinner may also support digestion and improve sleep quality. That doesn't mean eliminating fats completely just avoiding excessively heavy meals. If you want to take things a step further, you can also pay attention to meal timing. Ideally, try to eat breakfast within an hour of waking up and finish dinner around three hours before going to bed. Of course, that's not always possible but it's a helpful guideline if your schedule allows for it !!
The fourth habit is thank God and practice breathing exercises before meals. Our nervous system is often described as having two main modes: the sympathetic nervous system, which is associated with stress and the fight-or-flight response, and the parasympathetic nervous system, which is associated with rest and digestion. You can't expect your body to instantly switch from answering stressful emails and rushing through tasks to digesting food efficiently. If you want to digest properly, absorb nutrients effectively, support your hormones, and avoid excessive blood sugar spikes, u need to activate your parasympathetic nervous system before eating. One simple way to do this is through breathing exercises. For example, you can try box breathing: inhale for four seconds, hold for four seconds, exhale for four seconds, and repeat. Just a few minutes can make a big difference It tells your body that it's safe to slow down and focus on digestion.
The fifth habit is learning to move your body without exhausting yourself. Exercise should be a gift nnnnnnnot a punishment. It should support your health. If your workouts leave you feeling depleted, constantly stressed, and exhausted, it's worth reevaluating the type of exercise you're doing or the amount you're doing. Overtraining can increase cortisol levels and contribute to inflammation, hormonal imbalances, fatigue, and other health issues. Many women are already balancing school or demanding careers, family responsibilities, relationships, and household tasks that's alone is lot and adding excessive exercise stress on top of everything else can push the body into survival mode. Symptoms like missed periods, hair loss, acne, low energy, and burnout can sometimes be linked to chronic stress and excessive physical strain.
The sixth habit is becoming more mindful of your caffeine consumption. Coffee isn't evil (i'm a num 1 coffe lover hh) but many people rely on it far more than they should. If possible, try limiting yourself to one coffee a day perhaps two at most. Timing also matters. Ideally, wait about 90 minutes to two hours after waking before having your first coffee. This allows your natural cortisol rhythm to do its job without interference. It's also a good idea to avoid caffeine later in the day. Even if you feel like coffee doesn't affect your sleep, caffeine can remain active in your system for many hours and reduce sleep quality without you realizing it. Since sleep is one of the most important factors in hormonal health, protecting it should be a priority. If you're particularly stressed or exhausted, consider reducing your caffeine intake or replacing some of it with alternatives like cacao for exmp or juice ect ..
The seventh habit is learning to say no more often. Hormonal imbalances aren't caused solely by food, exercise, or environmental factors only . They can also be influenced by chronic mental and emotional stress. Many women fall into the habit of people-pleasing saying yes to everyone else's needs while neglecting their own. The reality is that every time you say yes to something that drains you, u may be saying no to yourself. Setting boundaries and protecting ur energy can reduce a tremendous amount of invisible stress. ur body notices when you constantly push yourself beyond your limits. Learning to say no is often an act of self-respect and self-care.
The eighth habit is respecting your cycle and your energy levels. This doesn't mean rigidly organizing your life around every phase of your menstrual cycle. Rather, it means paying attention to your body's signals and responding accordingly. Women aren't designed to feel exactly the same every day of the month. If you're more tired than usual, honor that. If you're hungrier than usual, honor that too. Many women experience increased cravings before their periods, and that's not necessarily a sign of weakness or lack of discipline. ur body may genuinely need more energy during that time. Research suggests that energy requirements can increase during certain phases of the menstrual cycle. Instead of fighting your body's signals, try listening to them. If you're hungry, nourish yourself. If you need rest, allow yourself to rest. Working with your body rather than against it can make a remarkable difference in how you feel.
Finally, the ninth habit and perhaps the most important of all is going to bed earlier. Ideally, try to be asleep by around 10:00 or 10:30 p.m. if your lifestyle allows it. The early part of the night contains a larger proportion of deep sleep, which is when many important hormonal processes occur. Many people stay up scrolling on their phones or watching television, even though they could be sleeping. While there's nothing wrong with relaxing in the evening, it's worth remembering that sleep is one of the most powerful tools available for improving health. Better sleep supports hormone production, helps regulate cortisol, promotes recovery, and improves overall well-being.Even moving your bedtime 30 minutes earlier can make a noticeable difference. Sleep is truly one of the most effective and accessible forms of medicine. Before reaching for supplements or searching for complicated solutions, many of us would benefit enormously from simply sleeping more and sleeping better.
The most important message I want to leave you with is this: hormonal health doesn't start in a pharmacy, on a supplement packs , or even in a doctor's office. It starts with the small choices you make every day. Sleep, nutrition, stress management, movement, and self-care all matter and often much more than any pill ever could !!!!!!!!!!! Of course, if you're experiencing serious symptoms or significant health concerns, it's important to consult a qualified healthcare professional who can provide personalized advice. But regardless of ur situation, the habits we've discussed today are simple, practical, and accessible. They can help create the conditions your body needs to feel safe, balanced, and healthy ! stay healthyyy <3
