The After Series

The After Series goes beyond the events that were shown in CANON and focuses on the intimate parts of Buck and Eddie's relationship from a FANON perspective. Each part within the series includes their off-screen conversations and interactions and it begins with season 2 and ends with season 5.

After the Ambulance - 4K words; Rated General Audiences:  Buck and Eddie return to the station after the ambulance explosion. Buck cooks for Eddie and they have their first of many real conversations as trusted partners.

This series is FANON speculation for things that could have happened off-screen during and after 6x13 “Mixed Feelings”.  Buck and Eddie are in a secret relationship and only Chris knows about it, however after part 3, it won’t be a secret anymore.  It’s filled with love, fun, laughter, fluff and domesticity for the Buckley-Diazes as they journey through life together.

Their Firsts, At Last 

This series is complete.  440K Words; Total works = 15

A FANON series that tells Buck & Eddie's love story! Starts with their First Love Confession and will continue until their firsts are complete. It’s multi-part fanfic series about the romantic “firsts” Buck and Eddie share as they journey through life in an established relationship and their lives as a couple will include some of Buck’s individual “firsts” too. It’s filled with the FANON love, romance, fluff and domesticity their relationship should have been allowed to experience in CANON.  The second part of the series title was adapted from the song “At Last” by Etta James.

This series of FANON future speculation fanfics is being written on a continuous timeline that begins with the start of season 7 (if it were to start in September 2023). Each part ends at a specific point in Buck and Eddie’s relationship so the next part can begin with the ending of the previous part. Therefore, parts 1-14 should be read prior to reading part 15 and the series will continue in that manner until it’s complete.

Graduation Day, Gifts and Good Cop Parents - 20K Words: Rated: Teen and Up Audiences:  It's Chris' high school graduation day and Eddie and Buck spend time reflecting on their bad cop vs. good cop parenting style and they hope their children will carry the lessons they're teaching them into adulthood. Since Chris is grown and he'll be leaving home soon to attend college, realization sets in that they'll soon be empty nesters and it causes them to reassess their future plans. Also, the graduation gifts they have for their son will be a complete surprise.

Being Better Parents vs. Being Bad Cop Parents - 40K Words; Rated Mature: In less than nine months, Eddie and Buck have to share devastating news with their children regarding another death and days after their initial conversation, Eddie's faced with having a long overdue discussion with Chris. Being better parents to their children than their parents were to them has always been a priority therefore, the talks they have will illustrate the difference between being better parents compared to when they have to assume the role of being a bad cop parent.

This is a FANON series I’ve created and titled “Eddie Journals His Thoughts” and it will include several journal entries he writes as a healthy way to therapeutically process and work through the thoughts and feelings he had at the end of season 7.  Some of the things he writes will be heavy and emotionally angsty while others will be domestically and romantically fluffy.  As previously mentioned, I HATED the way 9-1-1 didn’t let him talk to anyone about the way he was feeling at the end of 7x10 and it pissed me off when they let his parents abruptly show up and take Chris to El Paso, Texas with them.

"What do you want?" - A Series of Ficlets

This series is complete.  216K Words; Total works = 30

This is a series of “Fics and Ficlets” I’m writing and my goal is to keep them under a certain number of words. I’m challenging myself to do it this way for multiple reasons but mainly because I want to see if I can write a full Buddie story by including smaller fics in a series in comparison to the multi-chapter fic I’m still in the process of writing titled, “I’m still in love with you but… I needed to learn how to love myself too!” I began writing it last year after season 6 was an epic disaster, however this time I started with my dislike for the way season 7 ended and it’s continuing through season 8.

Initially, this series was going to be speculation; however, things I included in the first 6 fics/ficlets, i.e. Buck's breakup happened in 8x6 instead of 8x1; Eddie hasn’t dated anyone since the doppelgänger cheating debacle and Eddie going to visit Chris in El Paso, TX and taking Buck with him didn’t happen. Based on the way 8x8 ended with Eddie looking for a house in El Paso, it’s unlikely that it will, therefore the fics in this series are CODAs or “fix it” fics.

Since these ficlets will be posted in order, it’s imperative to read them one after the other. Each part ends at a specific point with a cliffhanger and the next part will begin with the ending of the previous part. Therefore, parts 1 - 29 should be read prior to reading part 30 and the series will continue in that manner until it’s complete.

"You don't know math!" - 3.3K Words; Rated Teen and Up Audiences: Buck is forced to choose while Eddie might be presented with another option.

"Math is a universal language." - 5K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences: Eddie reconnects with an old acquaintance and they spend a lot of time together. However, now that Buck’s single, he finally tries to understand math is a universal language but when he sees Eddie talking to another guy, he wonders if it took him too long to figure it out.

“You know, it’s like that thing when you meet somebody and you just… click.” - 5.1K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences: When Buck comes face to face with Eddie’s new friend; he hates it but since he’s only told Maddie about his breakup with Tommy, Eddie’s still under the impression he’s taken. Therefore, Eddie makes plans to spend even more time with his new acquaintance.

"I can't stop thinking about him." - 8.1K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences: Buck and Eddie are trying to move on but they can’t stop thinking about each other.

“How I hide my true feelings from others.” - 9.6K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences: Buck and Eddie return to therapy but they’re both not telling each other about recent events that happened. Will they finally have an open and honest conversation before it’s too late?

"We need to talk." - 11.4K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences:  After Eddie and Buck decide to take a weekend road trip to El Paso, TX to visit Chris, during the 12-hour drive, they talk about a lot of things they’ve left unsaid.

"I do need you." - 5K Words; Rated” General Audiences:  It’s late and after being on the road from Los Angeles to El Paso for more than 12 hours, Eddie and Buck are tired but they aren’t sleeping. Instead, they’re continuing to discuss things they’ve left unsaid.

“It’s in my will if I die you become Christopher’s legal guardian.” - 4.4K Words; Rated: General Audiences:  Even though it’s after midnight, Eddie and Buck are lying in their individual queen size hotel beds continuing their conversation about Eddie’s plan for when they arrive at his parents’ house later today and they're finally discussing Eddie's will.

"I chose this life for a reason." - 4.2K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences:  When Eddie and Buck arrive at Eddie’s childhood home, Eddie remembers things haven’t changed and once realization sets in, he’s reminded of the reason he left El Paso in the first place and it leads to an intense conversation with his parents.

“It’s not what I wanted then and it’s not what I want now.” - 6.7K Words; Rated: General Audiences:  Eddie and Buck are still involved in a heated conversation with Eddie's parents about Chris' current living situation and even though Eddie keeps reiterating that he's Chris' father and he wants him to go back to Los Angeles with him and Buck; Helena's determined to get her way and she's adamant about him remaining in El Paso with them.

“I'm not disrupting his life, mom; I am his life... because I'm his father.” - 8.4K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences: After Eddie tells his parents that he came to take Chris back to Los Angeles with him and Buck, Helena's not happy about it and before they leave, she makes one last attempt at manipulating him into leaving Chris with them.

“I told you I wanted to quit ballroom dancing.” - 9K Words; Rated: General Audiences: While Eddie's inside of his parents' home continuing an intense conversation with his mother about Christopher's care, Buck's outside with Eddie's sisters listening to them discuss their upcoming decisions regarding possible job promotions and changes to their employment.

“What am I gonna do, Buck?” - 6.5K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences:  After Buck purchases pain medication for Eddie's migraine, they head to the restaurant and when they arrive, Eddie vulnerably shares everything about the conversation he had with his mother. Also, he provides details about the things that happened before he left El Paso back in 2017. Instead of Buck making things about himself, he listens and in the end, he actively demonstrates how he's the perfect partner for Eddie by having his back.

“I do not want to be parenting on FaceTime!” - 7.1K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences: Eddie and Buck have lunch with Eddie's sisters and they discuss the reasoning behind their visit to El Paso. In doing so, Adriana and Sophia remind him about some of things that are specific to El Paso that he hadn't previously considered. The information they provide shines an unavoidable spotlight on his available options that he can't ignore.

“Thanks for helping me get back to him.” - 8.6K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences: Since Eddie and Buck have an hour and a half to spare before they have to pick Chris up from the amusement park, Eddie takes them to a place that has a panoramic view of El Paso, Texas and the views help give them some perspective about their lives.

"But I hope you know, you do matter to me." - 4.6K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences:  While Eddie and Buck are waiting for Chris to exit the amusement park with his friends, they have an important conversation that lays more foundation for the one they agreed to have at a later date.

"Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced." - 6.9K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences: While listening to Buck and Chris talk about several changes that have taken place in their lives, Eddie realizes he still has to face changes he's been avoiding in his own life.

"Every moment is a new opportunity to make a memory together." - 7.1K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences:  While Eddie, Buck and Chris are having dinner, they spend time discussing the things that happened over the past six months. However, now that Chris is 14 years old, both Eddie and Buck realize his interests have changed since he's established a life in El Paso that doesn't include them. “This is my kind of therapy!” - 5.8K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences:  After Eddie, Buck and Chris leave "The Red Door Escape Room," Eddie remembers a comment he made five years ago, "This is my kind of therapy!" and it reminds him of the thing he wants the most and that's for the three of them to be a family.

“I’m wide awake!” - 4.7K Words; Rated: Teen and Up Audiences:  It's early in the morning and since Eddie's wide awake, he decides it's time for him to do something he should have done months ago.

“I was uh... going to ask this weekend if you want to move back in with me. They’ve always been emotionally intimate but they’ll be dating and wooing the other one with surprises and romantic gestures.

Therefore, he's planned an impromptu trip, so they can start finding a way to heal.

Season 6 - Constructive Criticisms 9-1-1 Season 6 - CANON Constructive Criticisms

A wrap to another season with my favorite character Eddie Diaz's arc not moving one inch. I would say I'm surprised but I'm not because this is what Tim does. He gets viewers to tune in by using Buddie, like he did in 9x13, but then he abandons it and turns left while leaving Eddie on the sidelines with Buck getting all of the attention.

Anyway, I'll likely take another hiatus from Tumblr because I'm not interested in seeing posts about Buck and his new kid. 🙄 Apparently, blood relatives have replaced the found family after all since a sperm donor was able to get the kid he donated his sperm to his friends for. Oh, and they were killed in a horrible car crash just so Buck can be a single dad. That was Eddie's storyline and now that it's been superimposed onto Buck, what's left for Eddie?

You guessed it, nothing!

So, season 10 will likely be more stories for Buck with Eddie and Chris sidelined like they were in season 8. This will probably be my last season tuning into this show because it's unbalanced and they're doing everything they can to push Buck out front while they leave Eddie on the sideline.
