#i love the 'couldn't call my ride' thing bc you know a bunch of dudes in that situation/time #would have cut her out and downplayed her role the second they got The Big Save and got to ride back in like a hero #he made sure she knew he didn't pull that with her #she was his backup and he'd have called if he could #i'm not even a hardcore steggy shipper but it bugs me *so much* when people downplay their connection and the bond they had #and act like she was 'just some woman he knew for a few weeks in the 40s' and vise versa #they saw each other at a time when others didn't and encouraged each other to be something more #they made a huge mark on each other's lives #which is actually why i feel like their pre-endgame ending was so beautiful and more poignant than them ending up together #bc it was really so poetic and tragic the way they echoed through each other lives even when they weren't there #peggy protecting steves's legacy in the past and being one of the few people to remember him as him and not as cap #and steve protecting peggy's legacy in the present when she can't anymore #tearing down shield even though it hurts to destroy what she built bc he knows it's been corrupted into something she'd hate #and she told to him he had to keep going forward not backwards even when it was hard #anyway now i'm just rambling but ugh peggy i'm sorry you get to deal with misogyny both in universe and outside of it ❤️#fandoms be normal about women challenge (impossible)#captain america: the first avenger #mcu #steve x peggy
