Around the 4:40 mark she even talks about being trapped under rubble due to Israel's bombing and how Hamas rescued her life despite the bombings. She talks about her disappointment in hearing how Israel didn't fight to free the hostages and took their time reaching a ceasefire.

Remember Israel spent a year lying about how Hamas treated her, how they were torturing her, and killing hostages. All for the actual hostages to refute all those claims in front of the UN.

assuming you can find a company willing to make the capital investment to hire people in the US to fill manufacturing jobs, you are still dealing with

• none of them are trained for the specific job

• the vocational schools that would have trained them have shrunk probably around 80-90% in the last 30+ years

• there are no domestic managers with expertise in the field

• the actual facilities for manufacture have either been converted to other use (probably housing) or simply abandoned since then

• the sources of working expertise you could try to import are mostly foreign (bad if you are a "America First" racist) and worse yet, from "enemy nations" (bad if you are a "we are at war with China already" liberal)

• all of these problems are also prevalent in your support industries (machine parts, industrial chemicals, facility and shipping materials)

In Engles' Principles of Communism, he writes that the slave is not considered as a member of society, and thus has a relatively better existance than a proletarian. I don't seem to understand his reasoning there. It seems counterintuitive that the condition of a slave would be preferable to that of a proletarian. Could you help and explain why Engels made that claim? Thank you

He says it right in the same section:

The individual slave, property of one master, is assured an existence, however miserable it may be, because of the master’s interest. [...] The slave is outside competition; the proletarian is in it and experiences all its vagaries.

He did not say that a slave necessarily has a better existence than a proletarian, but that they "can have" a better existence by means of being sheltered from competition and the risk of poverty and unemployment.

Frederick Douglass echoed this sentiment when he wrote that "experience demonstrates that there may be a slavery of wages only a little less galling and crushing in its effects than chattel slavery, and that this slavery of wages must go down with the other." As a former slave himself who escaped slavery and became a proletarian, he was in a unique position to reflect upon both modes of existence. While he never would be one to diminish the value of freedom compared to slavery, it was clear then as it is now that the abolition of slavery was not the be-all, end-all of emancipation more broadly.

Curious, why would the founding father of the political zionist movement write a letter to well-known pillager, imperialist and colonizer Cecil Rhodes, the man who was famously known to have founded a colony in Zimbabwe & Zambia?

It usually depends on what is being argued in the first place. Statistics are notoriously malleable and easy to take out of context, and whenever you're arguing based on statistics you need to make sure you're first in agreement as to the relevance and reliability of the statistics to the argument at hand.

That said, my two go-to papers when it comes to providing general statistics in defense of socialism when arguing with liberals are "Capitalism, socialism, and the physical quality of life" by Cereseto & Waitzkin, 1986, and "The true extent of global poverty and hunger" by Jason Hickel, 2016. Both are by Western researchers, both are published in Western journals, and both use Western economic data, which provides liberals with little opportunity to dismiss them as fraudulent.

The first paper by Cereseto and Waitzkin directly compared socialist and capitalist nations at similar levels of economic development, showing that socialist nations consistently outperformed capitalist nations when it came to metrics regarding the physical quality of life. That is, socialism is demonstrably superior to capitalism at feeding, sheltering, clothing, and providing medicine for its citizens, and even Western data sources confirmed this.
