As someone who was alive when Bob Ross (and William Alexander before him — that’s where the approach is from) was on PBS, I can 100% testify that you can paint along with him.
You may need to learn how to set up your paints and such… but this is what people did, live, while the show aired. That’s what the show was for. I had family members create lovely works of art they enjoyed, which I still have on my walls, because William Alexander and Bob Ross both said:

They freed a whole generation of people who were taught to paint detail and realism and exact representation of reality — people who largely gave up this kind of thing because it got tedious.
I watched the joy of family members as they rediscovered art as a messy fun spontaneous half hour activity.

as it is the month of june, i decided it was my solemn duty to put june rouclere in a situation. corresponding hurt/comfort for bosco and charlie will be coming next!
Pirate au for jackdaniels? Consider me interested...
Yes, yes. Well, I mean, the pirate au is for everyone, I've just included JackDaniels in it. So far it's looking like it'll also have HermitFool and MayDray/HenAlmLula in it, if you're wondering about the other ships in it. Oh, and of course June x Charlie x Bosco.
So far the story is that Jack escapes The Octa (Walter's ship) when they're kidnapping Dylan, leaving him stranded on The Eye as a stowaway. He hides for a while, but after realising this is his mentor's/psuedo-father's ship (Dylan's) he exposes himself, for fun and because he's sure knowing Dylan will bring him mercy.
He's brought down to the brig where first mate Daniel looks after him for most shifts, realising that if he's not constantly monitored, he will escape easily. Henley, Merritt and Alma all look after him too, but Jack talks to Daniel and Alma the most. He only talks to Alma to practice his French though.
Jack is super flirty with Daniel the whole time. It's not until after they get to know each other that it starts to really get to Daniel. He still doesn't release him, just in case Jack is lying about knowing Dylan. They do kiss at least once while Jack is behind bars though.
Also, Jack definitely calls Daniel captain as a flirty nickname, even though he knows he's not the captain. This continues even past when Dylan is back on board, but it's much quieter, and Jack does not do it in Dylan's company.
I think that's all I have right now for JackDaniels, but if you're curious about everyone's roles in this au, it's under the cut.
Daniel is the cartographer/navigator as well, hence his last name. Yes, in this it is literally because of his relation to maps. He's often defiant of Dylan, but Dylan recognised that he had the most leadership quality, so he's first mate, in case anything like what goes down goes down.
Henley is their crew's best fighter, although she does also brandish a gun, so that's like automatic bonus points. She is incredibly strong, but also just knows how to use a sword and otherwise fight to her advantage. She and Jack are about on parr when it comes to sword fighting, but I think Jack would win in a fight without any weapons.
Merritt, especially after Dylan is gone, mostly just drinks. He's there for the freedom of it all. He used to be pretty rich, but after his money being stolen by his brother, he was never able to recover, which is what started his pirating. After earning a significant amount of money, enough to get his life back started, he stayed because he fell for Dylan, not that he would ever say that.
Alma is a runaway princess from France who knew Dylan when she was growing up, and she always wanted to be a pirate. So she does. She's still learning, but even after years of being on the ship, she's still looked down upon by her crewmates. Jack is the first one to take her seriously, aside from Dylan.
Charlie was the second mate of The Heart, pretty much only there because of nepotism. But, little did he know, his sister always hated her, and as soon as their father, the captain, dies and she's made the captain, she tries to kill him. She puts him and two of his most loyal friends on a boat and sets it on fire.
They would've died if it weren't for The Eye finding them and sending a life line, essentially.
Dylan is The Eye's captain. I feel like it's pretty self explanatory. He's the captain. He is kidnapped by Octa. The intention, is that he starves to death, but one of their other prisoners donates small portions of food, basically just enough to keep him alive.
Who is that other prisoner? Lula.
Now, this is where it gets kind of, um. Unsavory. Lula is Walter's slave for um. Fun. I do not know what I'm allowed to say here. She's definitely abused. She's the only consistent prisoner there, basically only because she's Walter's little toy.
She escapes when the crew of The Eye comes to save Dylan. Jack escapes when he realises where they are, and frees both Dylan and Lula, knowing where the brig is.
