Yukirama shrugged. He didn’t have to explain himself to this boy, but if he wanted to make friends, he probably needed to make him understand. Otherwise, the Uchiha children just had more reason to keep their distance.

“I’m adopted, but…half. You know? Half Uchiha blood. But I don’t really know my parents.”

That made no sense to him. Shiori found it hard to understand, assuming that Yukirama wasn’t an Uchiha at all. It wasn’t completely uncommon to have a non-Uchiha parent but, the fact that an Uchiha being adopted into the clan full of Uchiha is difficult to comprehend. 

            ❝ If you’re half than you’re an Uchiha! There’s no... y’ know being an Uchiha now! Uchiha blood means you’re an Uchiha. Just makes no sense for you say you’re one now when you’ve always been one. Hmph, that’s like adopting someone who isn’t from our clan, and they say they are when they have nothing to show for it. You do, Yuki, our sharingan!  ❞

“Well, no, I am an Uchiha, now. I was adopted.” Which in itself was a rarity, practically unheard of. When the elderly couple with the fans on their backs took him in, their explanation was gentle. Yukirama still wasn’t really fully aware of why he was allowed into the clan.

“I can definitely do the fireball jutsu.” A little glint of competitiveness entered his voice, just in case he’d be asked to prove that fact. His sharingan was active too, but his proficiency with it was far less developed than any of his other abilities.

Now he was confused. There was no way an adopted Uchiha had the sharingan. Yukirama had to be playing a trick on him, he made it sound as if he was a total outsider coming in. Yet, he has the sharingan, the very thing Shiori has yet to achieve. The fireball jutsu was one thing but to have their ocular jutsu was another.

        ❝ You— you... have the sharingan. ❞

Shiori didn’t know what to believe.
