Hi! Would you be alright with sharing what kind of markers and liners you use for your art?

Absolutely!

The pens I use for my lineart are ZIG Memory System Millennium Markers. They’re similar to Micron pens, but they’re more affordable and not as prone to smudging. I usually start by going over the pencil sketch with a size 03 pen, then I thicken the outer lines with size 08 and the inner lines with size 05.

My marker collection is mostly Prismacolors -- the chisel tip, NOT the brush tip! I really like their chisel tip: it’s big, it’s smooth, and it’s sturdy enough to deal with my tendency to press down really hard.

However, Prismacolor’s color selection sometimes leaves a bit to be desired, so I have a few Copics in the mix for colors I just can’t find in Prismacolor. Mostly Copic sketch because color variety. But I don’t really like the Copic tip options (brush tips and I don’t get along, and their chisel tips are too scratchy for my tastes), and they’re crazy-expensive, so Prismas are still my go-to.

P.s. - If you want tips on specific colors to get started, feel free to message me with an idea of what you usually draw (what characters are you likely to draw? do you draw backgrounds? etc.) + what your budget is (so I know how MANY markers you can afford to buy), and I can toss some color suggestions your way!
