I feel pretty confident in my ability to read basic instructions and directions. like I think I can buy a métro ticket from a machine even if it’s not en anglais. I just don’t know about verbal instructions or talking to people. then again as soon as I open my mouth everyone will clock me as an anglo and switch to English so it’s fine
