I've been thinking about both 'Obsession' and Bloodymary non stop but because I refuse to put either of my sweet, perfect boys into the role of a fuckhead like Bear, here's what I've got in terms of an AU:

Stratt using a One Wish Willow to wish that Grace would go on the mission willingly

And because she didn't wish he'd have a change of heart, or something like that, she just wished he would change, (kinda like Bear in the movie) it creates this entirely separate Ryland living in the body of the actual Ryland that is *uncomfortably* willing to sacrifice himself. He has no autonomy, he only exists to be used by other people

Stratt seeing that Ryland has become so subservient, always looking to others to direct him and tell him what to do, ready to martyr himself in an instant, to the point its just straight up creepy, and realizing that...her wish has effectively rendered him *useless* for the task she needs him to do. Which is when she calls the One Wish Willow company looking to *alter* her wish.
