The brunette started slightly, squinting up at them. He attempted to sit up and see where exactly he was but quickly stopped when he felt the wound pull, his hand coming up reactively to it as he groaned.

He swallowed hard, trying to get rid of the dryness in his mouth. Slowly he rasped out, "I don't...think so...?" His hand came away from his shoulder and to his eyes, attempting to rub the sleep from them.

"Easy." She gently eased him up. She was relatively sure they were in somewhat good cover. Night was falling and they were far enough away from the gate where the bulk of the Jaffa would be stationed. She rummaged through her pockets for a first aid kit. She wiped away the sweat from her eyes, only briefly noticing that it wasn't sweat at all.

"We were under heavy fire," Mat explained while gently peeling back his jacket and shirt to get a better angle to clean the wound. "You were hit and we got separated from the others."
